I own the actual copy of Pokemon gold and every time I save my game the save data is deleted but if I save then do another save it's fine but if I leave it off and don't turn it on it will erase it still but if I turn it off then on after the double save it's fine this is not an RGR game room help it is for the real game I actually own.

This happens with age unfortunately.

Most games from the Game Boy Era like Pokemon die because of the M1 Circuit Board.

When this shorts out, the save function is destroyed.

Sorry =/

You'll dampen a cotton swab with water and press out the excess water into a tissue or towel or something, until it's damp but not wet (you don't want it to be too wet). You'll then swipe the contacts with that and use another one if needed until the swab is no longer black after swiping. Then swipe it with a dry swab.

It was worth a try... sometimes that worked for me with GBA games.

Edit: most likely the battery is dead and needs to be replaced.

Disassemble the game.

Normally I'd advise against this, but it seems broken.

go into it and clean it out.

Then reassemble it.

You need to replace the battery that allows the game to save. I just did this about a week ago myself. You will need a CR2025 battery some type of tool to take the screw off the back of the game, soldering equipment, and electric tape. I think I got it all. But for the steps on how to do this I recommend looking them up on Youtube or Google. Hope I helped.

To be honest it would be cheaper to just buy a new Pokemon Gold, then to disassemble it, clean it, replace the battery, and solder it back together, especially if that doesn't work. You're save file has already been deleted and can't be brought back, so you're going to have to start a New Game anyway.

Save yourself some hassle and buy it from Amazon.

I think this can be closed when I start the game and save it it erases the data when I reach goldenrod or save in that town it corrupts my save file forcing me to start over once I hit Kanto and double save it's fine no problems
