I say online gaming is better. I did get a little addicted to WoW, but it was way beter than any offline game. You could do alot by yourself, but the game pretty mch forced you to be a little social to get stuff done. I did hate how it was constant drama, but it never stopped me from getting immersed in a background story. I loved it because of the many options you had to play, and how each class had to rely on another at some point in he game. Online games also feel more like a fantasy world, because you see other people going to achieve their goals. While offline games cn be fun, a little challenge with real people online never gets old.

Being bad at communication, I normally prefer to play offline and compete through leaderboards. I do enjoy playing games like Tekken 6 online, though. I enjoy MMORPGs if they have a good community, which is extremely rare. I enjoy playing Pokemon matches online, and love the tension. I don't play the online multiplayer of most games unless it's as fun as Tekken 6's online play. I find online gaming only good for making me hate people I don't even know half the time. Half the MMORPGs have utter jerks at every corner, and I just know online shooters are like putting a big sign that says, "Kick me" on your face. The fact that people display little to no manners online is worse. I had a problem with some He-Man cosplayer and his friend taking my kills in Runes of Magic, and they wouldn't respond to a word I said.

That's not really a good first impression of two players you just met.

I chose to go with the online gaming. I always love to challenge people and compete to be the best at that game. It's nice to play online when you have no one else around to play with. So definitely online is my clear winner. Hopefully they make more games where you can play online.

Offline. Online can be fun, especially when playing an awesome match where you're pushing each other to your limits, but the real story, the great character depth, and the exciting setpieces rarely end up online (unless it's an online co-op campaign).
Also, online has a much greater potential for failure, because some people (hint hint) have too poor of an internet connection to be able to play games online well. It works fine for Vizzed or regular websites, but if I were to try and play an online campaign or match, the added requirements of good connection would slow my game down and lessen the enjoyment greatly.
That and those idiots that you find in online games. I've been lucky to only encounter decent people when playing at my friend's house.

Online gaming is my preferred option mainly because the gamers online are reliable and think and act accordingly to the situation or mission at hand. I also understand people get upset and call each other names if something goes wrong but I don't take it personally since I too get rather upset. Anyway it's interesting to see how others react to different people's gameplay style most are humorous and optimistic since they're having fun and it's definitely worth it.

I agree that certain games can be much for fun with online co-op than with a CPU ally. But you have to take the good with the bad and accept that some people will be self-centered and abandon the team for their own goals. Then, there are those hacker-types who use and abuse holes in the levels and whatnot. Those people upset me. Heh, heh.

I think online gaming is better because you get to play and interact with friends. It's also a great way to make friends

Offline gaming is better. Sure you can get good multiplayer blah blah, but where is the story? Where is the sheer awesomeness of beating that ultimate big baddie using the characters you developed yourself?
I can tell you that is the Persona games ever went online, the series would be ruined. You can't get that sort of involvement in a plot with some kid typing "OMG, rly?" Try playing a GOOD, long game that has the time to develop a plot and try to say you prefer online play.

I can only play certain games online. If a game offers proper communication methods, easy ways to find your friends, and servers that aren't crowded with idiots then I'll be more than happy to hop online and play. For some reason though, I've been gaming online less and less lately.
