Have you ever loved someone that you like and you find out that their in a lesser grade than you?  I just saw love at first sight and I thought to myself, I think she is a Freshman or a Sophomore or something.  It is hard to find someone you love that can be in the same grade as you or one grade level lower because it would be weird to see a Senior dating a Freshman.

I actually just though to of one potential problem....

if the senior is 18 and the freshman is 14-15 then there might be a problem when the relationship becomes more physical

Just something to be aware of. Not sure how big of a deal it would be but things like that could always turn sour and the younger person gets the older one in trouble for something that was consensual at the time.

geeogree : There is leniency that varies from age gap of two to three years that varies by state... most of them is two years. The only thing it gets you though is a misdemeanor instead of a felony. Though honestly that is still a big break.

I also learned in my research that if both parties are under the age of consent that you cannot charge either party for statutory rape.

okay, I think the case was Canadian but either way that's still rough that you get charged for it either way.

But at the same time I can understand the mentality. 18-20 year old college guy taking advantage of a 15 year old or something like that.... the perception of it at the very least is bad. Really, why would someone that age need to go for someone who is barely in high school?

But it is true that you have to be careful. I live in a state where it is technically illegal for an 18 year old to even kiss someone under the legal consenting age. Another thing is to make sure the parents are okay with it. A guy in my school dated a freshman, and the parents hated it. Because of their legal guardianship over their daughter, they took pictures of them kissing, and turned it in to the police. All that just to keep them apart. It definitely worked. He got off on probation for a while, but still. Bad news.
