I think this is what happened:

One day, Arceus, the Prince, got upset because Pokemon in 5th gen were getting even more broken than ever. He went to the god, Magikarp, and complained to stop making Pokemon that were too good. Magikarp said, "I am the king of Pokemon, you cant stop me, for I know all of your moves." Arceus then became mad, and blast a surprise Judgement that brainwashed Magikarp and sent him down to Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, and Hoenn. Magikarp then became a useless Pokemon who could only splash, tackle, flail on the ground hopelessly, and bounce. Form there on, Arceus became a god and made the Ubers tier more broken than ever. However, while brainwashing Magikarp, he forgot to take away his true powers, but Magikarp can't use them, as they require god powers.

That is what I believe happened in the generations.

I second/third/fourth/etc. Magikarp. It goes from being one of the useless Pokemon in existence to total BOSS when it evolves.

Well, wouldn't Arceus be technically considered the king of all Pokemon. From what I've heard, it's like the ancestor of all Pokemon or something.

The only other Pokemon that could qualify would be Mewtwo, since it's really frickin strong, and it threw Ash against a wall. =D

The whole idea is absurd and retarded to me. The king would DEFINITELY be mewtwo hands down. His stats are by far the greatest, plus (if I remember correctly) he can learn just about any move making him the TRUE king as you never know what to expect from this pokemon and can make it to where he is virtually invincible with the right movesets and EV training.

How could anyone but arceus be the king/god of all pokemon. I mean honestly he's the best pokemon of at least 6 or 7 types and most likely more. What other pokemon can say that? I mean anyone who think's arceus isn't the god and king of pokemon should try playing ubers against real people. Because there's no telling what type he will be but you can be sure arceus will be beating you like the king he is. I mean if his stats weren't enough the surprise factor he gives puts him in a league of his own.
