Ive recently been doing work experience in Barclays bank with the traders, brokers, legal, etc..
Ive always love economics as soon as I took the a level in it and I love money, not just to buy things with it but making it too through stocks and bonds and so on.

Just wondering if anyone else is as interested in finance as me and whether it could be a possibility to open up a forum on it, I know some people on the board have jobs in the finance and business sectors.

Close this thread if necessary, but I also opened this thread just to see how many people are intrested in the subject too so feel free to post about what you find interesting in the economy or if you even like it at all

It probably would not get much activity to be honest because the debate forum in general is has always been a graveyard. It can always be made as a sub-forum though and that would be the best option to go with.

It's a cool idea, I would love to all about what you have done and your experience? Maybe like a how to guide, maybe tell us stuff you've learned from classes for those who might be interested.

I'll talk econ and finance all day without breaking a sweat.  Unfortunately, you can try but I think no one will chime in too much.  I'll always be here to post and comment and listen as is necessary.

Its an interesting idea to say the least, but like Jigsaw said, I doubt there would be much activity. Maybe there can be activity if we had enough people that really REALLY cared for it, but I doubt it.

pacman1755 : true theres hardly any activity in the debate forum but i think that maybe because a lot of the stuff in there dosent apply to everyone
I think alot more people than we expect are intrested, especially in the current climate, and theres a billion and one things to talk about

the scope intrested in finance is vast anyway:

students: worried about the rising cap on tuition in universities
middle aged: worrying about how to get a pension
20's-30's: just starting out in life needing advice on debts how to sustain a healthy, wealthy family
young kids: tricks in getting extra pocket money to get that ds game or xbox game you wanted

people dont realise how much finance and the economy is an impact in their lives.

not only this but news articles about finance are actually intresting if you read into it, America was 12 hours away from social armageddon a few days ago due to the price cap on borrowing being lifted only at the last second, anything over the deadline and america itself would be bankrupt, anarchy would consume everything, the Americans would be living in a riot infested wasteland

yeah, I see no reason why it can't be part of this forums.

This forum has "News" listed as part of it's contents.... so having it included here would make the most sense.

And while there may be "lots" of stuff to talk about.... I don't see 95% of the members here spending any time reading any of it.

We can make it a sub-forum but nothing more.
