First off I don't know if this is the right place to put this, but I couldn't find another place this would work, so here it is, lol.
This is also kinda difficult for me to talk about to people I don't know, but I've been on Vizzed long enough to know that the people on here are pretty respectful and won't just outright call me crazy or tell me I need to go check into a psych ward.
So, ever since I was little I've experienced deja vu where I would dream of some event and years later it would actually happen. It started off as just a scene; for example I dreamed about what a new playground my neighborhood was getting and what it would look like a couple years before it was actually finished. Then as I got older these dreams got longer and more complicated, so instead of just a picture of something it became entire conversations with people I didn't even know yet. I was a little freaked out, but it was only an every once in a while thing, so I would just put it out of my mind(this was when I was about 14). Then when I turned 17 or so they got stronger and much more frequent and more things started happening. I'll be listening to the radio and at the end of the current song, another song will start going through my head(like the first couple notes)and then suddenly it will be the next song on the radio. Also I'll be think about something, like a friend I haven't talked to in forever and sometime later that day they'll randomly text me or msg me on facebook. Similar things to this have happened as well, but I won't go into specifics for time's sake. I have thought of every possiblity as to why this happens; including it's just coincidence(it happens too often for it to be that). When I was 18 it was particularly acting up and happening so often that I thought I was going insane and brought it up to my mother, but according to her this runs in my family. All the female in my family experience similar things to varying degrees. I have one cousin who would dream about what would happen to her the next day. The other odd thing about me in particular is that I'll go for months without anything happening and then normally around the beginning of September up until around my birthday(November 2) I notice an extreme uptick with these things happening to me. I also notice this around April, May, and the beginning of June. I can't think of any scientific way to explain all this, besides that my brain might just be in tune with a different frequency. I'm a very rational and logical person and not being able to describe it logically without referring to superstition really frustrates me. So I would love to hear any possible explanations, including religious ones. I may not be particularly religious, but that doesn't mean religion is always wrong. I would prefer if no one just out right calls me insane. I have thought of that, but if you're rational enough to think you might be insane you probably aren't. Plus I don't hear voices besides my own voice in my head. After a lot of googling my best guess besides that my head can hear a different frequency is that I have claircognizance which is explained here: http://www.intuitivejournal.com/what-is-claircognizance/
Thanks for any advice/ideas you guys might have.

I don't think you are insane. I've had some clairvoyant experiences in my lifetime as well, not as powerful or as often, but a few... mostly just this deep gut reaction to things that end up being bad. Though I have had one dream, very mundane, but the deja vu was intense.

I will spare you the religious theories I have, since I'm Pagan and we will tend to go with the supernatural theory and leave it at that... yay, psychic. Blessing of the Goddess, etc etc.

Perhaps the standard theory that such individuals that possess psychic ability are using a different/new part of the brain? Or that it is a newer genetic mutation that has not become common place yet, since most often it does seem to show in families? Humans are always in a state of evolution, just like every other organism, and this ability might just be part of the next stage.

The world of dreams is a vast mystery. My mother fears her bad dreams because when she was a little younger she had a dream about her apartment burning down. Sure enough (I forget the time frame, but recall her saying it was shortly afterward), her apartment DID burn down. My father claims he had a dream after my mom's dad died where he was at the table with my grandfather and my grandfather advised my dad to take good care of his daughter. These are each only one time experiences, though, nothing frequent like you've mentioned. I for one enjoy to frolic in the world of science and logic myself, but the paranormal fascinates me beyond measure. I'd love for people with all kinds of "powers" to exist, but believing in it in the real world is a different story. The "how cool would that be?" balances the "NO WAY" feelings to the point where I have no idea. All I know for sure is you sound like a person I'd want to meet! As far as religious explanations, I have an interesting story from my past psych teacher that kind of makes you want to believe in reincarnation (almost...), but seeing as how my reply is already unnecessarily long and that topic is unrelated, I'll leave it to a PM if you're interested at all or just not mention it.

*I also apologize if my blabbing seemed pointless/didn't make you feel any better.

Elara : Interesting, I hadn't thought of that though it does make a lot of sense. The thing I've noticed is that this ability tends to be particularly strong with the red heads in my family. With the except of one of my aunts who actually has the best control over it out of everyone, though she and my mother have a red tint to their natural color. Maybe it's more common in red heads because we already have one genetic mutation maybe it's easier for another to form. I really like the whole next stage of evolution idea; it kinda makes me feel like one of the X-Men, though their powers were a lot cooler, lol. I also get feelings about things too good and bad. A calm voice in my head will say something that ends up true later at some point. Though I should probably say that it is my voice, but it's one of the many voices people hear all the time with different ideas and feelings and what not. This one is always just so calm and yet commanding; it's hard to explain. I'll also get overwhelming feelings on things. For example I believe in souls. I have no proof they exist except for the fact that when I look at people, especially the eyes, I see a spark like there is something more there I can't quite explain, but I know it. Also what specific religion are you? I've never gotten the chance to talk to any actual pagans(I live in the south, not too many are willing to speak up about it).
danielbelitch : I didn't think you were rambling; I actually found it quite interesting and would love to hear what your psych teacher said about reincarnation. I have also found paranormal stuff extremely interesting(though I think I have a bit of a reason too, lol) and would love to talk to you about it if you would like. I'm not quite sure what all I could tell you, you probably know about as much as I do if you use Google at all, lol.

rlmathias01 : At this point I am kinda non-denominational. I started out as a Wiccan, and largely I still follow that path but then it sorta became trendy and I backed away from the identity. I also have a bit of influence from Druidry, and mix in some of the more interesting philosophy of the Discordians (which is a total joke religion, but with many salient points). I also really like finding ways of explaining things in a scientific fashion... like, for example, I think that magick and souls, etc are related to the electromagnetic field. And yeah, I realized after I submitted it that I inadvertently referenced the X-Men, which I also think would be cool if impractical.

Oh yeah, I remember now a dream that my father told me of once. He dreamed he was driving down a residential street in his truck with a friend he hadn't seen in awhile when a ball came bouncing into the road from behind some trash cans and a kid right after. He hit and killed the child because of how sudden it all was. Not long after, he ran into that friend and ended up giving her a ride home. When he turned on the street he recognized it from the dream and slowed down because he felt a really strong sense of deja vu, and has he neared the trash cans he had his foot over the break... and sure enough, to quote my dad, "out came the ball, out came the kid, and I slammed on those brakes as hard as I could... stopped an inch from the kid." He said it was scary, and really strange, but he was thankful for that dream. He never had any kind of psychic dream before or since to his knowledge.

Each time I dream, it does literally always happens in a few days later or a couple years ahead, but it happens.

The only thing is I would forget the dream, and then I would remember it, then it suddenly happens. It's like a warning notice, if I may say.

The dreams I actually do dream, doesn't happen. It's odd like that, and I think we all have varying degrees of clairvoyance.
