I am new to the community and am trying to play Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger. I have been going through past threads and trouble shooting for hours now. I updated my IE to 9, (It didn't work on 8 either), I'm running windows 7 which I just updated, and I have removed and reinstalled the plug in multiple times among many computer restarts. I have consistently gotten the Error, "'initInput ()' failed" for FFVI and have gotten both: "Need DirectX8.0 or higher" & "Game Has Failed to Load. If this problem persists please let staff know." If Anyone has a good solution to these problems please let me know. I have found many solutions in the threads already that have not worked and I have found some threads covering these issues that don't seem to end in a solution. The "initInput () failed," error I can't find any solutions for. I've Included some screen Shots. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Screen Shots for Chrono Trigger

The shots won't post for some reason, if leave an email adress I'll send them to you

I recommend trying a different browser, either firefox or Google Chrome.  You should also run windows update, and after that Google search the latest directx and install that.

The steps here probably need to be taken after you do the previous steps.  https://www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/thread.php?id=25979#05

Thanks B Towns, that got me running. I had already tried everything you suggested except changing browsers; without success. I switched to Google chrome and the game started right up. Perhaps this is evidence that IE 8 and 9 are not supported by your plug in. I've notice your a particularly present administrator on the boards. If IE 8 and 9 are actually not supported maybe you can get that included in the requirements information. Everything I looked at just said IE 7+ was required. If I had known that IE 8 and 9 weren't supported it would have saved me a lot of time. Just a thought. Thanks again for the speedy solution to my problem, I really appreciate the assistance.

Problem is solved, so this should be closed to prevent spam. As far as I know, IE is supported, but it doesn't always work as well. IE causes trouble on a lot of stuff. Firefox and Chrome generally work better for a lot of stuff online.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me.
