I can't get SNES games to work. Every time I try I get a message that says, "IDirectDraw7::CreateSurface failed. You should update your video card drivers. Alternatively, you could use a 16-bit desktop or use a non-D mode."
I get it on both my computers and it worked once at one of them. They are both a Windows 7.

My suggestion would be to ask tRIUNE anytime something like this pops up, he's probably the most helpful staff member when it comes to RGR.

Some possible solutions:

- From the emulator menu select a video resolution that has "S" instead of D or W (non-D mode).

- Try it in XP Mode, this will run it in 16-bit, info for this-
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial155.html

- Run dxdiag, instructions for this-
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Diagnosing-basic-problems-with-DirectX
and disable all the graphics acceleration (DirectDraw/Direct3D/AGP) and then re-enable them.

- Update, or uninstall and reinstall your video card drivers.

I'm also having the same problems, though I've tried your suggestions for solutions and nothing happened it's still not  working! I am using windows 7 by the way.
