Basically I have written this just after I came out of a  2 year relationship, It may not be that long to some people but it really inspired me to write this poem about my ex girlfriend, The poem structure maybe be poor, But hopefully you will enjoy this poem as much as I enjoyed the last 2 years.

I’m broken hearted, you ripped me apart
My soul is broken as you begin to depart
You leave here with a future, whilst I have nothing to gain
I am torn to pieces, as my tears go down the drain

It maybe a new beginning,but I wished it had never ended
It will take a while before my heart is truly mended
You are the only one that kept me feeling sane
You fought for me and protected me from pain

I maybe a man, but I will admit when you left me I cried
The flame in your heart went out and your love for me died
I maybe whole on the outside, but I am destroyed on the inside
Pain and misery, these are the emotions I am trying to hide

I will always remember the memories I had with you
Especially when you saved me when I had turned blue
You came to my rescue and made me finally take a breath
If it was not for you , I’d be in the void that is death

So thanks for the happiness and making me see the light
Thanks to you I’m happy, My future is looking bright
You gave me the encouragement to try with all my might
