The saying "It's raining Cat's and Dog's" came about when farm animals in a certain region started sleeping in the eaves of houses, and when it rained really hard, those animals would fall of the roof and land in the mud.

The term "nerd" was created by Dr. Seuss in 1950. It first appeared in the story "If I Ran the Zoo" and was a synonym for the slang term "square"

Now very few people call people squares, instead using the term nerd (or geek, or dork, but mostly nerd).

If you hold down the Z button on a gamecube controller as the console is starting up, you get a weird alternative startup tingle. If you have FOUR controllers and hold down Z on all four as the console is starting, then you get a third kind of startup sound.

XBAND was an early online console gaming network for SNES and Sega Genesis systems. It was produced by Catapult Entertainment, a Cupertino, California based software company, and made its debut in various areas of the United States in late 1994 and 1995.

Up to 4 different codenames could be saved on one modem, and on each of the codenames there could be up to 10 people saved on a friends list for those who wanted to keep track of other players, and the Xmailbox was also limited to 10 incoming and 10 sent messages per each of 4 possible codenames created. There was also an on-screen keyboard that required using your controller to type letters, or an XBAND keyboard could be purchased from the company. Statistics were also kept on each player's rank and how many matches they had won or lost, and how many points they had accumulated in these games. Players could also add information about themselves in their personal info section, along with choosing 1 of 40 pre-set avatars.

XBAND also had an official website where a member could check the statistics of anyone, along with other information and updates that were not available to view on your console.

At its height, XBAND had 7,000 subscribed members.

Nintendo existed in the 1800's. They made playing cards back then.

He even tracked down the old images from the XBAND website to use for stuff.

The capybara, (I think that's what it's called) is the worlds largest rodent; adults can grow to be about 4 1/2 feet long. Kangaroos are bigger, but they're Marsupials, not rodents.

In medieval times, houses had thatched roofs. Thick straw, piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the pets... dogs, cats and other small animals, mice, rats, bugs lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof. This gave birth to the saying, "Raining cat's and dogs."

Also, the floor was made of dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt, ergo the saying "dirt poor". The wealthy had slate floors which in the winter they would get slippery when wet. So they spread thresh on the floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on they kept adding more thresh until when you opened the door it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed at the entry way, later named a "thresh hold".
