I wish I owned the guitar of the king of the electric blues himself, the Gibson BB King Lucille. This model, based off of the Gibson 335 and gibson 345 series of hollow bodies, is often considered the cream of the crop for blues guitars for its high build quality, unique tone (as offered by the lack of any F-holes which normally accompanies hollow body guitars). It is also unique in, despite being made to sing the blues, it can also cover up to hard rock well due to limited sustain. This is truly an instrument most musicians would desire to own once they heard what Lucille can do.The price usually hovers at around $3000 (Canadian) and can be bought from most major guitar dealers.

Here is someone playing some slow blues on it.

Here is one of the most famous songs ever sung on the Gibson Lucille by the king himself using his own personal one.

Here is the King playing the song he wrote about his guitar using this very instrument.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y8QxOjuYHg

"It seems that it loves to be petted and played with. There's also a certain way you hold it, the certain noises it makes, the way it excites me ... and Lucille don't want to play anything but the blues ... Lucille is real, when I play her it's almost like hearing words, and of course, naturally I hear cries."

                                                            -B.B. King, 1968

(please note that different years of the Lucille do have slight variants but the tones are very similar between them all)

This guitar looks and sounds pretty cool, hope you can get it someday, personally.

Thank you

I might be buying the epiphone version sometime this fall, but the gibson will be a while away...that with a decent tube amp should get some beautiful tones, and still allow diversity to play heavier music. This guitar mixed with the black fedora, sunglasses and black trenchcoat is my form of the blues, and how I roll.
