Yes, I drink. Unlike most people apparently, I drink for taste... meaning that if I don't like the taste, I don't drink it. Drinking to get drunk is stupid, as I have seen proven time after time (the majority of my family are alcoholics). I rarely get drunk, I don't drive when I have had too much, and I drink plenty of water before going to bed to try an avoid the hangover from hell. I get really really bad hangovers, no matter how little I drink (seriously, I had two of those tiny chocolate cordial bottles with liqueur inside and it was just as bad as a full night drinking)... so you can understand why I don't drink to excess. But I still love the taste of a nice craft brew or good wine.

Because I drink for taste it also reduces how often I drink because you pay more for better beer/booze. No cubes of Bud Light or bottles of $5 vodka for me. The cheapest stuff I buy is Landshark, Red Stripe, or Killian's Irish Red, Sam Adams, and Yuengling (because I like their taste), though I prefer things like Rogue Hazelnut Brown, New Belgium Brewery's 1554 or Fat Tire, or Chimay (all three types). You pay more, but it tastes SO much better. And that makes you want to savor it, and that is what is important.

Elara : That is interesting! My dad is a beer nut as well, but I've never taken a liking to it. I like white wine, and some red wines, but they're more like food to me than drinking for the sake of consuming alcohol as well, so I get where you're coming from. (I do like some fancy cocktail drinks, but I would rather have them virgin.)

Annette : well the fact is if i drink alcohol i will never have any effects because i dont drink it much, if i smoke pot i will have some effects, even if its just a little to the lungs, in consuming it in other ways it still has mild risks, the risks are negligible through other means of consumption, but still present.
the liver heals but the lungs dont.in fact in later years drinking small amounts of red wine is advised by doctors, plus like canabis it can be used for medicinal purposes such as pain killers, as an aid to sleep or even as a disinfectant.

i know drinking bad and everythign and i never drink on my own but at a party ill binge drink a bit, its stilll enjoyable but i think being drunk is just a right of passage ive been doign this since i was like 14-15 goign to my first real aprties i dont really see anything wrong with it, it might be cultural differences, i mean i grow up in places where everyone does this even the posh :p so i dont really see anything wrong in this but i know the dangers of binge drinking and i make sure i dont ever drink too much, people also do herbs and other substances too and i DO agree that those are bad but the thign is people all around you are doing it so it desensitises you and tbh people are curious anyway so ill admit i have done quite a few things which i dont regret ive really cut down on alot of what i do know though and im in no way promoting any of such consumption

I'm 21, so it's legal for me to have some drinks. But I don't do that often. The truth is that I mostly enjoy having some red wine once a week or so.

No, because drinking alcoholic drinks can harm our health plus I am still too young too drink....I only drink juice and milk....good for children like me

I like wine with meals sometimes. Or if I'm at a party or with friends I don't mind drinking. I need one if I'm to get up and dance XD
But I tend to get drowsy and that annoys me, especially with friends. It's a choice of whether I want to drink a minimum or enough to bypass the drowsiness and return to a buzz.

And to many on here: Apparently a glass of wine (preferably red, I believe), is actually good for you. Also, a square or two of dark chocolate (real dark chocolate, say 70-80%) is too.

Regardign your other post weed dosent contain tar as far as i know its a herb, if you have it with tobaccco it can be more harmful but smoking it pure you wont get the additional afefcts from the tobacco.

I drink. In moderation. 1 or 2 should do me. I'm not a big heavy drinker. It's not my thing.

I turned 21 earlier this year, so I am of the drinking age in my area; however, I have no intention of consuming alcohol. My parents encouraged me not to drink. Ever. I personally see no good reason to even try to enjoy it in a safe way. I have a feeling if I ever did enjoy it I would quickly become addicted to it --I am serious about this.
