Nope it doesn't make me violent. Not one single violence in history. No offence, but its a bunch of bulls### that it creates violence for young youths and it doesn't! F### you Jack Johnson! I bet you haven't even played one single violent game. No offence, I hate people who think that way.

Ive played an inconceivable amount of violent games and find myself in situations that could turn to violence often, and by often i mean more than it should happen... but even now, after all of that i dont grab a knife from my pocket and stab someone in the face. No matter how much i can hate someone, can say i want to kill them.. i probably wouldnt... I, myself, dont thing i posses the ability to kill someone in reality... So... Jack Johnson can suck my raspberries..

Violence in video games is a percieved danger. If a parent lets their kid play the games they better damn well teach them the differance between right and wrong. Now a days partents aren't taking responsibility for their parenting skills and blaming it on companies because they are too lazy to take care of it them selves.

Thats exactly it john, exactly it.
But another point, think of when we were growing up, we didnt have near perfect to realism games. We had 8-bit pixely games (and sometimes less). Its quite easy to tell the difference between real and fake.

Can anyone name any violent games from when they were growing up?

Duke Nukem 3D and Heritic. Those scared my mind for life...when I was little, haha. But They are nothin' compared to what's out how a days. It's crazy. The games just get more and more intense. They have to become more intense because people are becoming numb to previous violent games. They are only getting worse.

I do agree with John, it does depend on what the parents teach. I've heard of cases where people have just gone on killing sprees and stuff because of video game violence. It does influence peoples decisions...especially if they're crazy to start with.

*edit* I suppose it could be worse, without these "simulators" people would be actually doing it. It can also be an example of something you would not to enjoy if you were to do it in person.

Definately Gears of War, it's more real time and everything looks a lot more real.

if a kid murders somebody thinking that they'll come back to life, that's not because of video games. it's because his parents are freakin morons! no parents in the right mind would allow a child to think that people will just reappear after you kill them. although some games really do go way to far...

It's ultimately the kid's fault for being a complete effing idiot. I can't believe someone would simulate the violence in a game, and by the way, the new helmet for your game console called "head games" allows you to interact even more with the environment by seeing in surround view and digital sound... It's getting crazy.

Well you must understand, most games are a way to experience your most kickass childhood or now-hood fantasies. For example, when I was about 7 or 6 i DREAMED EPICLY about having the ability to control and shoot electricity, so I now play City of Heroes as a Elec/Elec Blaster. It's the same for violence too, it's to simulate something that should affect NO ONE, except those who cannot separate fantasy from reality. THats all I have to say about that. [/refrences]
Come hither young squire, and listen to my hymns.

Life. Filled with tretorous roads, and dangerous paths. No one knows when it will end, or if it does not end at all.. Do not worry. For I am your saviour. I am your Messiah. I am Death.

Due to the lack of clicking... my poor dragons died. May their soul find peace in the mists.

When I was 9 and first found an RPG, I would cosplay a little, but I wouldn't go around "fighting demons" to the death in the middle of the street or beat up some kid for "EXP"

I don't really play violent video games, so I can't really make a comment on this issue.

Violent Anime, however, is a much different story.

Violence in games should have their limits though, it dulls the shock of real-life death which can make weak-minded people turn into real-life killing machines.

Those are the ones that are called "Rage Risers"
Violent games are called either "Stress Relief" or "Anger Management"
