Hello I'm some reviewer. You probably don't remember me but you sure will. I have been watching this guy called "The Nostalgia Critic". Hilarious Guy. I wanted to know if he did the Mega Man cartoon from 1994. So far, nothing. So I though I'll watch it myself and review it. Am I trying to be this great guy? No, I couldn't compare, and this is text, not video. So it kinda defines the point.
Now, I was born in the same year as this aired, so I really didn't watch it as a kid. In fact, the very idea of a film or cartoon made from a video game was incredibly rare and epic to me. Sadly, they really screwed up all those chances to make them *cough cough* super Mario bros. *cough cough* Street fighter * cough cough* Captain N, the game master (boy, the one time they animated Pit, Mega man and Simon Belmont in the say cartoon and they got them all wrong! Gezz, you could have at least got Pit right.) The first mega man I accurately played was MMBN 3 Blue, and to be honest ed, it was one of the (and still is to me) best games I played.......Oh yeah the review on the cartoon *laughs shyly* Almost forgot about that. Nearly has me telling you my Mega Man life story.
Before I start, I have to mention that I was only able to watch the first season on this cartoon, and not the second or third (only one episode in the third, so really.......not a season). I watched it on this website but they only had the first one. I could have gone onto youtube, but to be honest, I didn't want to watch anymore. It wasn't like it was bad, it was more like........um.......errr.........not good, but not bad either. So-.
With that said, lets jump in. The show starts with the opening credits, like the rest. It has a pretty neat theme song to go with it. But the lyrics are a little repetitive. In fact, I heard this done before. I heard The Megas (video game band that does Mega Man inspire music) did a cover on this song. So the nostalgia of it throw me off. During this, you see all the Robot Masters from the first game. So I naturally assumed this was based on the first game. I was wrong when I saw the second episode. So it starts out as Wilys trying to take over an airport so he can control the city. Isn't he want to take over the world? Well, I guess you gotta start somewhere. So all the Robot Masters from the first game except Ice Man trash the airport. What? No....backstory or anything? Wily just this bad guy Mega Man has to defeat? No? Nothing? Oh well, maybe it'll pop up later.
The Robot Masters seem to be accurate to the game. Cut man fires pac-mans from his head and cuts things, Eclectic man summons electricity and electrifies things, Fireman gets fire and melts thing....er I mean, fires things. Yep, that's right......=P Mega man receives a distress call and heads off to save them. Roll wants to come along and help him, but Mega Man refuses, in case she got hurt. So Mega man hops on Rush (yay ^^) and even Eddie makes an appearance (double yay ^^) Giving him, and I'm serious here, energy cans. They refuel his powers. Well, at least they are following the laws of thermodynamics. Of course, roll wants to follow him and help him. Mega man is doing fine fighting five different robot masters at once. Hey, where did Fireman go? Um I don't know. Nothing important I guess. But you might want to keep things consistent in a show. *taps nose*
So Roll appears and uses, for her weapon, and I am serious here, a vacuum. Yep, she points it at some bad guy, turns it on, sucks at the robot, then it stops. The robot falls into pieces. HOW DOES THAT WORK? I just hope the logic doesn't get too...unlogical. Mega man fights and then gets their powers, just like in the game. But does he have to say "now I got your power" when he gets them? I sure hope that doesn't become his catch phrase. But then after some time, roll is about to be crushed, and Mega man saves her, only to get crushed him self. He "apparently" didn't have enough power to destroy the falling object.
Eddie: Oh, I should have given Mega man double energy cans!
Me: Don't worry, Eddie, you did the best you could.
Fair enough, but why didn't Wily let him go so easily where Dr. Light could repair him? I don't know, evil villain syndrome. As mega man is being towed away, someone sad this " is all r. Lights fault. If he hadn't invented robots, none of this would have happened." Where do I begin? First off, Dr. Light didn't "invent" robots. There were robots before his time. Second, Mega man is trying to help you, why do you shun him for failing when he has helped you before? And third, the robot is only as good as it's creator and programmer. If the robot is built for bad intentions, it will be a bad robot! Same as good intentions. So stop stereotyping against robots!
I hate this city. They are very subjective to chance very quickly and with that become very stereotypical about one small thing. I'll explain that in a bit, as it includes one of my most favourite episodes to make fun out of.
So as Dr. Light is fixing him up, he recalls how all this began. A back story! Not much, but by the sound of it, it's going to explains everything. Dr Light and Dr Wily used to be workers together. As they make one robot and boot him up, he starts destroying things until he is shut down. Dr wily saw this as a good opportunity to make robot warriors. But Dr Light disagrees and wants to start from scratch. Dr Wily sighs and agrees with him. Later that night, Dr Wily steals the blue prints for these robots (why Dr light didn't destroy them to prevent the same......oh, to see what was wrong.....ok ok) and Dr. Light finds him. They go their separate ways and later Dr Light makes Mega man. Only he has name him Rock to start out with. How nice, giving him the name which at first, already meant "mega" to begin with, then later giving him the name Mega man because Rock wouldn't have made sense......remember what I said about consistency? You didn't even....I'm getting ahead of myself. The weird thing is that rock doesn't ask the really good question. He just accepts life. An doesn't ask where he is or what is his purpose in life. None of the good ones, like: What purpose am I to fulfill? Was I built to kill? Is they're a soul beneath this shell? And will it go to Robot Hell? Ok, that was a verse of the Megas "lamentations of a War Machine, but they do ask very good questions. Oh well, it's a kids show, maybe that's why. He also looked in the mirror and accurately said "but I look human"......Riiiiight.
He also made Roll as a robotic maid. Dr Light shows them three new robots that could benefit mankind: Guts man, Cut  man and Ice man. Dr wily appears and uses a strange device to reprogram all three of those robot masters to do his biding. Then mega man and roll get stolen by....I mean kidnapped by.....I should say robot napped by Dr Wily and Protoman, Mega mans half brother. Protoman always calls Mega man "brother" which gets a little annoying. Even Roll once said "I wish he would stop calling Mega man 'brother'". He want to reprogram Mega man and Roll in his Wily Castle. Now now wait a minute. Why does he need to go there to do that? He easily reprogrammed Guts man Cut man and ice man with that strange device, do why couldn't he use THAT to reprogram Mega man and Roll? Evil Villain syndrome I guess.
Mega man gets away by lying (apparently robots can't do that, but his "determination" allowed him to do so). So Dr Light makes him into the super fighting robot we know and love, Mega man. Apparent;y Dr Light gave him human emotions that allowed him to be a greater fighter than the rest, because of his self determination and sense for justice. Oh COME ON! You go that deep into self determination and stuff like that, but you ignore the good stuff like "how am I alive" or "what am I?" Or "if I have a heart made out of steel, does that mean I cannot feel?" Ok, the last one was from the megas, but they have a better idea of this. Moving on. Dr. Light repairs Mega man and he goes back to the airport and.....hey wait! Why is Fire man back, but Ice man is missing? Oh I suppose it doesn't matter.
So Mega man and Roll saves the day. Then.....there's a break? But the show has ended. After the break, the....credits roll.....WHAT THE....*trying not to swear* FUDGE CAKE! Why have a break at the end of the show and then have the credits roll after that break? It's like finishing an essay and then leaving it without saving. Then coming back to only to save it. It doesn't make any sense.
The episodes after that are pretty good. I like to see what other Robot Masters appear. In fact, I often play what I like to call "Name that Robot Master" In the Episode Cold Steel, there are three robot masters, one is spark man, the other in Gemini man, those are easy. But the third one is a little trickier for me. He;s green with what looks like a windmill on his back. What could he be? Wild mill man? Cross man? Oh no, it's not religious man? If so, that would cause some sort of uproar with Christianity. I'll say wild mill man.
Correct Answer: Gyro man. Oh, well, that makes sense. In the episode the incredible shrinking mega man (sounds better than it is), there is a robot master that is blue, and has a big square like hole connecting to his back. Hole man? Well, he sucks up stuff, do I'll call him Roll, er.. I mean vacuum man
Correct answer: Dust man. WHAT? All he did was suck up stuff, there was no dust involved. How was I meant to get that? Gouda make it up in the final sound. In the episode Rob-sera's park, a green.......thing appears out of the swamp. What the...heck could that thing be? Ugly face man? He looks like a disease in robot form. Malaria man? Looks it, but that's probably wrong. It came out of the swamp, so it could be.....frog man, It has to be frog man.
Correct answer: Toad man. Oh of course, frog man is a completely different robot master. Of course, because........I DON'T KNOW!
Well, lets continue to criticise the plot, show we?
The overall plot is pretty decent, apart from the fact that now he wants to take over the world (of course!) instead of just taking over the city. He comes up with different ways of taking over the earth. Such as freezing the earth or using stone robots to take over the world. All the episode are slightly above decent. It's not that I hate it or anything, it's just I want to point out the flaws in it. I mean, in the episode where Mega man thinks he's a real human boy, they save Dr. Petto (I know what your thinking, I watched that Brentalfloss video as well). And it turns out he's found out how to make robots human, and he said something like "oh it is vonderful, you can smell the sweet scent of a rose, or have a tingling feeling when you hear a pretty girl" Err.....should that be in there? Mega man is perfectly happy being a robot anyway, until Dr. Petto asked a very good question "are you sure you know what happy is?" thank you, Dr Petto.
Another point in the episode Dr. Petto turns Mega man into a "real" human boy, even though he looks EXACTLY THE SAME! Can't Dr. Light see this? No, he accurately says something dumber. Just tell me Dr. Light needs to go out more after you hear this.
Mega man: "Dr. Petto turned me into a real human boy.
Dr. Light: Oh that's excellent Mega, you must tell me how it feels.
Yep, he did accurately say that. Why would you want to know what it is like to be human, WHEN YOU'RE ALREADY ONE? Later, Dr. Wily is stealing a building. Mega man fails to stop Wily and for some reason Dr. Wily dropped the building.......ok.......*Loud voice starts to talk with the words appearing* Stupid Evil Villain Syndrome!
*looks left and right* Anyways, after this, the city starts stereotyping Dr. Light and his good intentions. They were shocked, absolutely shocked to find that mega man failed this one time and now they all of a sudden think mega man and Dr. Light are as evil as Dr. Wily himself. The reporter asked him what he had to say about this he said "um.......ah.....er..." and now the whole city hats Dr. Light. If I was there and were Dr. Light I would say this:
"So you though mega man was a hero before, but now because he failed once you think his some sort of demonic toaster? Well when we save you I want an apology.
then at the end, they say "thank you Dr. Light, we owe both you and Mega man our lives." Oh, now you like me? I though you hated me for created devilishly evil robots that helped people then failed once then helped people again. Well, whose laughing now? Well, maybe not, a true gentlemen doesn't gloat =D
In Mega man goes to the Moon, Dr Wily warns mega man that there is a bomb on the space station, and it'll go off in one hour. Why would-

Err, thank you.....Chuck Norris? This guys got the right idea, whoever is shouting this out. If Dr. Wily wants to get rid of mega man, why tell him about the bomb? Unless.....unless he wanted to distract mega man for long enough so he could build his *raises both arms and does the "Quote unquote" quote marks* "death star" (which, by the way, is very much like the second Austin Powers film, only this was created first). But even if that was the case, after an hour, mega man just about got rid of the bomb and made his way to fight wily. That sure is some slow work there, Doc.
Also, Cut man, Guts man and Crystal man are playing cards. Guts man tells cut man to "cut" the cards, in which he does so litteraly. but then a few seconds later, it turns out all the cards are dealt, and uncut. What happened? Did quickman come along and sort things out?

Yeah, I would like to believe that. Really.
In Cold Steel, there is a girl who is deaf yet she can read lips. Ok, that's possible, but when Dr. Light turns on some music, the girl somehow recognises the music, and walks towards the music player. Her mother explains that she can some how feel the vibrations and that way she can tell what music it is. WHAT THE.......*again, trying not to swear* TERRIER DOG PUPPY POODLE!?! Listen, when you are deaf, you can not hear a thing. If you can hear and understand EVERYTHING that a normal person can when you are deaf, that sort of defines the point of being deaf! It's like having someone that in blind, yet they can see perfectly because of the vibrations.....oh Dare Devil.........But he's a super hero, he's meant to have powers! Granted, this girl is very talented for being able to understand music when she is deaf, but if you hadn't had said anything, I would have through here normal mute girl.
She gets invited to a gig played by Cold Steel by Roll, which is rolls favourite band. Now, right now I would like to say, wouldn't it be so nostalgic and awesome if the music Cold Steel played was from the Mega man games? Wouldn't it be epic to hear the title of Mega man 3, air mans stage, the first and second stage of wilys castle from mega man 2? I thought so as well, sadly, I don't think they even considered it. Oh well, the Megas will always fill that hole....*day dreams and thinks of their music*

Oh yeah...the review and crittersizing the...... yeah yeah, sorry about that. The band consists of three people. The guitarist can play amazing solos with no fingers, the drummer holds the sticks so well you could swear that they were his hands, and the third one, I don't know what he does, but he has a cross on his back.
And no-one suspects a thing? I just sure hope they don't hypnotise them or something.......oh wait.....they do, and everyone leaves, except for roll, that girl, and mega man.
It turns out to be Gyro man, Spark man and Gemini man. They fight, mega man takes their powers...go on, say it, I know you want to. Say it!
......He....he didn't....I was totally wrong about this show. For once they come up with an annoying slogan, but when you accurately know what his power is, and how he uses it, he doesn't constantly say "now I've got your powers" I got to hand it to them , they know when to stop.
Mega man: Sizzling Circuits.
Quiet! Well, after they fight, the robot masters put on their "rockin'" outfits and act as if they had just been saved. why does no-one notice spark mans.......rods or gyro mans huge cross on his back? I mean, they are clearly transparent disguises. Later Dr. Wily tries to take over the world with mind control. He tells Dr. Light (while hypnotised) to ramp the thing up to 50 billion watts. Hey, I wonder what that turns out to. Wouldn't it be funny if it came out to enough to make time travel possible? Ok, a megawatt is 1 million watts, so a giga watt is 1 billion watts. So it's 50 gigawatts? That's not the same as a Jigawatt, right? They are the same measurement? Your saying that a jigawatt is the same as a gigawatt? I got to look this up....
*10 minutes later*
A gigawatt is the same as a jigawatt. In fact, a jigawatt doesn't exist. Just a misunderstaning of the word. Right, in that case......
0.05 terrwatts? What was I thinking? come on, in the year 20XX they have the power to ramp 50 giga watts at will? 1.21 gigawatts equles a bolt of lightning! He's calling the power of 42 lightning bolts. I sure hope they don't do time travel next.....
At the end of the episode Protoman and Wily are on a log in the middle of a river. Something a robotic dog that can turn into a hover board could catch up with. No? your just going to let him go? Even though you could easily catch up with them? No....ok, let him hatch another evil plan. Just don't let the city know  or they'll quickly sterotype him again.
In Future Shock, Dr. Light was able to create......time travel. Maybe he watch back to the future and realised that he could summon 50 gigawatts at will..... So metal man makes an appearence, along with cut amn and guts man. They want the time machine. Dr wily figures he can;t have it in the end, so he decides to destroy it. He fires at the time machine. Now this is what happens. Mega man throws Dr. Light into the machine, sets it to 1 minute into the future, activates it, the machine disapears right before the missile hits the machine, and Wily thinks he's destroyed the machine. 1 minute later, the time machine reapears, but Dr. Light is missing. THAT.....IS JUST IMPOSSIBLE. Think about it for a minute. The effect is meant to be instantanous, you wait one minute for the machien to come back while the person in the machine would have to wait less than a second. therefore he could not go missing! Even if mega man did set the time wrong, what ever got him would either be too stupid to know how to activate the time machine without getting trapped first, or smart enough to know it could help them and therefore not send it back. How would they know what time it came from, anyway? How would they know what time to send it back to? IMPOSSIBLE!
Mega man then goes to travel in time to look for Dr. Light. But How does he know weather to go backwards or forwards in time? And by how much? It doesn't make any sense! But after mega man goes forward in time (and apparently the vortex of time is rainbow coloured, of course >.>)  it turns out that Dr. Light isn't lost in time. But in fact the the explosion of the missile threw him out of the time machine!THAT IS EVEN MORE IMPOSSIBLE! Him being lost in time makes more sense than this. think about it. He was thrown inside the machine, THEN the time machine completely disapeared BEFORE the missile hit the ground. So how did Dr. Light get thrown out of the time machine even though he was clearly in it and it completely disappeared before the missile had made impact? Quick man! It was quick man

It just doesn't work! Also, I liked the afact that in 30 years, Dr. Wily hadn't aged a bit, until I saw his accuratal face, which makes sense, and he had a walking stick. Lovely ^^
But what I don't understand is that they took his time machine, but didn't choose to destroy it. If they did, then that woul mean mega man would never get back and dr. wily has a better chance of killing-

Another thing about this level is that it took Dr. Wily 30 years to figure out he could give Cut man some kung fo moves. Why cound't you do that before?
And I love the creativeuse of weapons in this show. I'll give you a challenge. What are the only things, beside their voice and how they look, that Cut man, Ring man, and Metal man have differently to eachother?
Well, lets have a look. They all have their weapon on it their head, they all fire it from their head or hands, they can all cut through pretty much anything.....why, are they just the same robots only with a different voice, style, weapon look and name? Do the answer is. THEY ARE THE SAME ROBOT MASTERS! The only thing different is the name.
Metal man: Hey, I can cut though anything with my metal blades.
Ring man: Hey, you stole my idea, an you got it on your head. Thive
Metal man: Hey, I appeared in the megaman games "two" games before you. So you copied me!
Cut man: You both copied me, I was in the games before all you! And they could cut through anything. No creativity.
Metal man: Well....you suck, cut man.
Vaccum man: I though i did that?
You see what I mean? And finally, what is up with cut man and guts man? They are always together in every episode. Are they....involved with anything? Unless your trying to tell me that dr wily thinks they'll destroy megaman.
Dr Wily: Metal man, your a failure! Dust man, you bring shame to me. Quick man, you never paid me back, your no better. Now cut man and guys man.....the two that have failed me more often than anyone else has.....yes, you'll do. You'lll get that megaman this time, you were......so far from doing it the last time.

Well, I am tired. I don't think I;ve ever typed do much in.......What> what do I accuratly think of the cartoon? Oh yeah......
Well, the animation was good, the music was a little repetitve, some of the music from the games would have been nice. Apart from what I have just said (an a little more)it was ok to watch. I wouldn't watch it again, but it was certainly fun watching. You gotta love Eddie and Rush. the story told was nicely done. I have nothing against this show, but hey, everyones a critic =P
Hope you enjoyed my long ramble. i think i have wrote too much. Oh well, If it entertained you. that's all that matters.
