This one... is one I wish I hadn't wrote. I thought I was in love at the time, and as it turns out, I wasn't. She wasn't for me. But this poem is also one of my sweetest I feel, and one I worked hard on. It's my longest, but it tells a story, I think worth hearing. Without further ado, I present, "Perfect Night Ahead"
The moon glows
And the Stars shine
And this one girl
One day will be mine
All of this...
In a perfect world,
But sadly...
In this corner I'm curled
I'm suffering
In my mind tonight
I'm tired
of this endless fight
My emotions
Want me to give up
But there's hope
This one girl says, "Sup?"
I don't like her
She don't like me
But I'm upset
And this she sees
So we began
To talk,
And my heart,
It started to walk.
But it's ok
You have to learn
to walk before
you can run, or you'll burn
So she said,
"What's the deal,
I want to help you,
I really care how you feel."
So I cried
She didn't see
But seep down
I felt glee
I typed my,
response, and this is what I say,
"I just feel poorly,
I had such an awful day..."
I continued, "I
just can't find love,
I'm beginning to
Think it's a sign from above.
She replies,
"What do you mean?
People love you.
Your senses aren't too keen."
So my heart sang,
and we talked for hours,
From the love lost, to the
bombing of the twin towers
So we talked bout
Our history, and how we really feel,
And we talked about our hobbies,
And agreed to catch a meal.
Ad my heart sang,
That day lasted for years,
but in four hours,
I forgot my tears.
Then the night
It was nearing
It's waning in late,
I was hard of hearing...
She said,
"I love you,
I can't imagine,
If you feel it too..."
I was caught up,
In my tears
But these were joyous
Forgot all of my fears
"I feel the same,
we'd make a quite a good pair,
but there's one condition,
I get to keep my hair."
And we talked
For hours on end,
Tonight, my life,
Took an interesting bend.
I may be single,
But at least, now there's love
I feel like,
This is a new sign from above.
So after our chat
I looked o'er at the clock
It was 3 AM
And I hit the bed like a rock
And suddenly all was calm
I no longer had to fight
I could hear the ocean
and the sky sing, "What a perfect night"
Again, apologize for the length, hope you enjoyed it. This one... is one I wish I hadn't wrote. I thought I was in love at the time, and as it turns out, I wasn't. She wasn't for me.
