this happened to me last afternoon i had been outside for whole day and remembered that if im too long outside. my cat will do anything to get my attention. so i chose to go inside. there was a shoe box near the door. and my kitten was sitting on it. so i opened the door and...jorma jumped right at my face. i barely managed to dodge the kitten.

Well I guess you got what you wanted, it's attention.  Make sure you clean the scratch thoroughly because some cat scratches can cause ringworm depending if the cat is infected.
