It's getting serious. I'm now having palpitations for about an hour until it stops beating irregularly whenever I'm in a very crowded yet small place. I even ignored my teacher's warning awhile ago when she saw me and she thought I was sleeping. I was just closing my eyes and I was more concerned about bringing back my normal heart beat than explaining things to her that time.

I'm also having slight palpitations whenever I imagine my self in a crowded place. It never happened before. I have to be physically in the area before I feel the palpitation and it also used to last for seconds only. But now, an hour?

Is there some sort of disease that matches the description? Do I need to go to the doctor?

edit: Ugh it's back...now how am I going to sleep.

I'm no doctor, but that sounds bad. It seems to me that you might have some kind of fear from crowded places, thus the palpations. I suggest to go to the doctor, and if he/she says there's nothing wrong, go to a psychologist.

Hopefully the palpitations stopped by now. IT sounds pretty bad, but I also feel that I might have experienced something like that before.

Definitely go to a doctor this sounds serious (sorry to make it sound scary) but I'm sure it can be sorted by the proffesionals it sounds like acute fear or stress induced so maybe see your local GP then he/she will refer you to a proffesional on your palpitations.

yeah, that doesn't sound good.

You might need some sort of mild anti-anxiety meds to help take care of that.

And I imagine some therapy could also help if there is a root cause of the problem that you're not aware of.

I have the same feeling when I'm around people in general, but in big groups its even worse. I don't think I get palpitations though I just feel extremely odd and turn into a different person. I think you might actually have closterfobia since you are having this problem in small areas with lots of people in it. I'm not sure you have a fear of people or not, you said this is something new... sounds to me like it either is closterfobia or you have anxiety/stress.
