Halo means so much to so many people. This is not extraordinary in the culture of videogames. What's exceptional is how many different things it means to those players. For me Halo has always been a social experience, with lifelong friendships forged over a shared love of the game. Some hop online to randomly test their merit in competitive matches. Others find themselves lost in the fiction, playing through the campaign alone and then poring over the extended story in books and anime. Still others look to Halo for a creative outlet as level forgers or machinima producers. This range in how we play Halo is a testament to how feature-rich development studio Bungie has made the franchise, and Halo: Reach is the ultimate punctuation on a decade's work.

This is the end of the Halo road for Bungie -- the group is set to move on to a new original game next while Microsoft takes over responsibility for the franchise's future -- and that sense of this being a finale is in Halo: Reach. It shows clear reference to past games, refines well-established game mechanics, adds a few exciting twists, and polishes the rest to a glossy finish. The result is one of the most complete, fully-featured packages you'll find in gaming.

I only haven't played Halo Wars but Reach was really nice. Every knew that Reach is going down but I haven't expected that its so dark and evil. But that's how it has to be, there is no happy End when everyone dies. But I hope till the End that noble Six will live ;-) He was a Hero.

My Cousin bought the books and I've seen the anise too. But I have to say the books suck and they add to many stupid s*** to the story. You just realize, that they got different authors

Benner86: The books were meant to add additional history to the halo series like what happened before the rings founded, how the UNSC met up with the Covenant, or other notes. Although I gotta admit too that the books add even more stuff to the point of confusion in terms of timeline and canon referenced. Oh, and the battle at Reach was suppose to be massive and a loss, so I guess that's why it was rather dark and evil. (just adding some words here...).I might not have Halo CE and 3(even though I've played it elsewhere), but Bungie having Reach as its final product, I'd say a great game overall. Although I feel that something's missing that it has from all the games, not sure what it is. Anyways let's see what 343 Industries can do (even with some of the staff from Bungie supporting the franchise).Edit: Just a note that I have Halo 2 (Xbox) and Reach (360). Also I've played Halo 3 with a friend of mine and understood the plot.

I have one last thing to say, if you don't have Halo you don't deserve an xbox 360 . Halo 1 was the game i decided to buy an xbox. In that time Halo was always the difference between playstation and xbox. I have to say that, cause i talked to a dude last time, who played xbox and said Halo sucks,   is here anyone who could understand something stupid ?
