I think that a true "pokemon master" will have caught every Pokemon in existence, and have all the facts and stats of the Pokemon memorized by heart. Very few people can do that; those people are the true masters.

I wouldn't consider myself a pokemon master but, i do know which pokemon to use in battle and what moves it should know. I almost filled my national dex in pokemon leaf green but my file sucked so i restarted.

I believe I am close to being a Pokemon Master. I have completed EVERY game, from Gen 1 to 5, plus all the spinoff games like Puzzle League and Ranger series.

I have caught every Pokemon except for the event-only like Mew cause I can't access the places. I always beat games within 3 days.

I formulate great teams with well balanced movesets and overall typing. I also make it training manageable, with no excess training needed.

I even know a basic outline of the level-up moves and evolution levels of all Pokemon up to mid 4th gen. As well as base stats for the popular competitive battling Pokemon, such as Uber and Overused Tiers.
