Revolting Rhymes is a collection of Roald Dahl poems published in 1982. A parody of traditional folk tales in verse, Dahl gives a re-interpretation of six well-known fairy tales, featuring surprise endings in place of the traditional happily-ever-after. The poems are illustrated by Quentin Blake.

I encourage you to read them, I used to have them all on tape, I wish I could find it, it was a red colour which I felt was highly unusual for a tape when all were black at the time.

Here is a Revolting Goldilocks Rhyme that I made when I was young.

The three bears went out to let their porridge cool
in snuck Goldilocks,
She tasted the porrige
the first was too hot
the second too salty
the third just right and she ate and she ate and she ate until she reached the bottom and there she found the suprise mommy bear had prepared for her little one, a juicy snail all covered in slime.
Golidlocks rushed to the tap to wash out her mouth of this terrible fate that had struck a greedy one such as her, the tap did not run, for it came off a pump which she had to press three times with all her might until it flowed and she was able to drink and drink until she felt like she would burst and could no longer flee for the pain in her side.
The beard returned to see the mess, their porridge ruined and their floor a wash with water.
They took poor Goldilocks to little bears bed and there she slept till she could smell a wonderful soup and she asked what was being cooked to which the bears licked their lips and said tenderly you.
