Viperx199 : Osama bin Laden was given weapons by the U.S. to fight the Iranians and the Russians in two different wars. He also offered to fight the Iraqis for the first Gulf War. He was an ally for a little while.


Also, Viper's point about political affiliation is that the conservatives support privately-owned business and are against big government except in protecting our interests. If the Republicans went and bombed the trade centers, we would destroy our economy, as is what happened. That's against what the Republicans want. The Democrats want to create a support-state where the govn't takes care of all people with high taxes and we rely on them for everything. It would make more sense, ideologically for the Democrats to lead an attack against US trading.

But we can get into the Republicans wanting to start wars against the Middle East to capture oil fields and take over control of oil. That makes sense.

But that also may be why Obama is in Libya. It can't be a humanitarian mission because there is slaughter around the world but Obama picks the one country with massive oil fields messing with our gas prices.

I believe the conspiracy states that Bush either was in on it or knew and didn't stop it because the aftermath would boost his ratings as everyone rallied behind him, and it would take their minds off of the whole stealing the election thing. Republicans do support war and military spending.

Personally I think the description of both political parties given here is pretty narrow and heavily slanted... and I don't know if warmaker actually believes that or not.

And for the record, the economy was doomed long before 9/11 happened. The interest on mistakes made in the 80s were gonna catch up to us no matter what... though all the buffoonery on Wall Street didn't help it either.

I don't know the whole truth of what happened on 9/11, I do think that the government is not telling us everything, and we have no idea what it is they are keeping to themselves. It could be nothing, or it could be major.

NATO is fighting in Libya because the Libyans asked for our help. When the uprisings happened in Egypt and Tunisia we did not step in, but we did say we supported their cause. But when Gaddaffi started murdering the protestors they asked for NATO aid and it was given. I honestly think this doesn't have to do with oil, if it did, we would be backing the dictator that we have been backing since the 70s.

No pictures of Bin laden are being released to the public, strange decision without any major proof Obama is always going to faced with conspiracy theories, on the other side not releasing the photo's will probably calm things down a little and it won't look like he is bragging about the death of Bin laden, it's a win and lose situation really no matter what was done.

I'm very happy this loser is dead. He killed many people for his own gain.

AndyGer : They really shouldn't have to release photos...There are always going to be those few people that believe he isn't dead...and it isn't worth the many people that might be killed from an international incident because of the photos being released....I support the POTUS's decision 100% on this.

I think that many people stopped caring about the Bin Laden thing many years ago. Do people realize that a person worse than Bin Laden will step into the organization over there? Dealing with groups like that is like dealing with the mythical hydra. Cut off one head and two grow in its place.

kyuremu : You just sound extremely arrogant with that post. It has nothing to do with "we might make the terrorists mad at us." We don't want to cause an incident in the muslim community that could cause more than just the few extremists that ruin it for everyone else. There should be no need to show the pictures...the only thing that can come from it is more bad. We don't want to give terrorists any more recruiting material than they already have. And to show pictures of a dead Osama would be to many recruits showing pictures of a dead martyr.

Obama is just doing what he feels is necessary to protect the citizens of this Country. Why do you live here if you hate it so much? It's not cowardly to not release the photos, there is just NO reason to do so. If Osama was alive, we would have released a video right now. Even Al Qaeda admited he was dead. There was absolutely no justifiable reason to release those photos other than to quiet the conspiracy theories. There will always be a few people that believe Osama isn't dead...but who cares. There are also people that believe Michael Jackson and Elvis are still alive...and I've SEEN their death pictures...

kyuremu : Those pictures weren't taken my Americans. It was the governments decision to now give out Their pictures of Osama. Pakistan released the pictures of the 3 dead muslims, not the US Government. And as much as I wish they wouldn't show the pictures, it's covered under freedom of the press. The confirmation is in the DNA testing and the fact that Al Qaeda has also confirmed the death of their leader. Also, I don't believe America can cleanse the world of evil...but I believe we SHOULD cleanse the world of as much evil as possible.
