If you hadn't noticed I haven't been around much as of late. The reason being that I've had some problems with XP and switched to Linux. Since then I had to figure out how to get my wireless card working. Finally with Bookworm's help and a little luck I've gotten it to work. Now I'm back and better than ever as Linux shouldn't crash on me anywhere as much as windows 'knock on wood".

It won't crash inless you brake it as root. The rule of thumb when logged in as root... "you are god!". It will not tell you what might not be a good idea... it will let you do it.

Ps. when you see a bunch of updates... don't hit the update button, I did that and it messed things up.

Well it seems there are some I/O errors in my HD, so thanks to my extended warrenty, I'll be sending my laptop off to get that repaired Once I get it back. I plan to dual boot Windows and Linux, so hopefully things will run more smoothly once I do that.

I never had a Mac OS to begin with. That's what I'm considering the next time I get a computer.
The only reason I'm installing Windows is incase I need it for some reason, like if MS Office won't work in Linux.

NOthin wrong with windows if you have a copy already and have power to burn. That being said...

Everyone knows all the real work gets done on Linux machines.

Latest Mac OS is a pretty graphical shell built on a the Linux OS. SO I guess it makes it rock solid.

I just got a friend who uses MacOSX, and I tease him all the time .

I've heard a lot about having both XP and OSX on the Mac laptop, does it work both ways? In theory it does, but I've never heard anything about it.

Yes, it works both ways if you can find the patch/crack to keep your fans running. There is a new program for OSX that will run windows programs.

I don't see the point of running any other OS really.

Windows XP has got everything I need, why do you use other OS's?
