Actually, if you break it all down, a million dollars isn't much to work with. Buying a nice car for $8,000, and putting gas in it for a year, along with insurance expenses sucks up a lot of that million. Buying every new video game at an average of $60 bucks a game also sucks you dry after repeated spending. And with each new game system selling for around $300... Now think about buying food comfortably each month. I can understand legacyme's comment, since that'd be living on $3,000 of food over the course of 10 months. But then if you think about clothing and cleanliness products like shampoo and such...
