Hi everyone I'm new to the forum but have visited the Vizzed Boards a few times over the years. I think maybe I didn't notice there was a community and forum somehow. This is an incredible service and I'm really glad you people came up with the idea.
I'm an old-school gamer, I played Atari at my friends house when they were new! Yar's Revenge was always my favorite and Combat though I loved it I kinda sucked at it. The first system I bought with my own money was a Sega Master System, Sega does what Ninten-don't haha. I actually love NES, my friends had them so I thought I'd open up our game availability by investing in a newer system. Phantasy Star became our new favorite game to play and we mostly ignored the NES that summer, with the exception of our obsessive dual attack on Star Wars to blow up the Death Star. We actually did that several times for some reason and it would have made for a great Let's Play had LPs been thought of yet!
I stopped buying systems at PS2 simply because I find more enjoyment going back to revisit games with the game mechanics that made video games a popular pass-time in the first place. I'm playing mostly NES, Genesis and Mame Arcade lately, also Counter Strike and Minecraft take up a large bulk of my gaming time. A browser game called Urban Dead is something I've been involved with for several years, if you like zombies and persistent worlds with completely open ended game play check it out, Join The Abandoned!
But what about me, who am I? Well I'm a Master Control Operator at a local television station. I'm the guitarist in a punk rock band that's nominated for best punk act in our city's music poll this year, cross ya fingers for us! I like mountain biking, zombie movies, camping/hiking and messing with computers.
I hope to get more involved with the forums here in time but will probably hang back and chill until I get comfortable. Thanks again for such a cool site and cheers!
