If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7, then there is a very easy way. As long as your game is running in a separate window, you can do it. When it's open, right click on the little speaker icon in the bottom right corner of your computer screen, then click "Open Volume Mixer." In that box, there should be more than one listing of your browser.

Mute one, then check if your game is muted. If not, unmute that one and mute a different one. Do this until your game is muted. If you're on a different system, I don't think you can do anything.
