I do not smoke and will never smoke cigarettes, but I have friends and family who do. I am not angry at them, but the situation is frustrating because cigarettes are so evil and hard to quit.

I tried smoking before. I didn't care for it. I enjoy the occasional cigar but I don't smoke them regularly.

I smoke a pipe. An author's pipe to be precise; made from briar wood. I like cherry spice, amaretto, and viking's pride among other flavored tobaccos.

I am glad you stopped smoking cigarettes. They put so many chemicals in those things, it's a wonder they are legal. Plus, it takes a lot of wherewithall to be able to quit. Good job!

Congrats on quitting. Make sure you stay strong. My Dad has tried quitting a few times, but he always goes back to it after about 2 years. I don't think anyone can ever be 100% rid of it.

I've never smoked and I never will. Most of my Dad's family is addicted. Every time I go to one of their houses for a holiday it's hard to breathe until I get used to it . When I get home my clothes always reek of smoke. I could never live like that.

gameface138 : I bought a bicycle and a membership to the local ymca. When i feel an overwhelming need to smoke i just exercise. My wife still smokes which makes things a little more difficult. Otherwise the best advice i can give you is if you feel the need to smoke just don't do it. It's not a need it's a want and if you really want to quit you can beat it.

Once my parents tried, saying they'd quit smoking as long as I quit mtn dew (I drink like 13 cans a day it feels, I'm a heavy dew addict). I quit for them, and there were some pains, but my parents (who didn't even smoke half a pack between them a day) couldn't even last a week. I lasted a whole month like that and suffered pains. Just to show them how stupid it was, I went back to Dew.
