Ive played all of them to date, the best being the 2nd one for PS2 and Tri.

BrokenMusicBox : I was in Japan when that newest one came out and my friend was geeking out about it. He was a HUGE fan of Moster Hunter he let me play it for like a short while on his PSP but he was kind of selfish and took it back. But from what I played of it, it seemed like an ok game. ¬_¬

A guy I worked with has Monster Hunter two I think. It was OK, not awesome by any means but playable. I didn't like the mission format because you could only find items in a certain location once per mission. That was way too much work for me for a few measly items.

I loved them, but I thought the camera control was awkward, mostly because of the design of the PSP. Co-op was especially fun though, it's too bad their was no online multiplayer unless you have a PS3.
