Hi there,

I'm new to the website. I really love old games (SNES, N64 etc.). I believe this website has alot of potential and owns rich content.

But, in my opinion, the interface is somewhat complicated and kinda end of the 90's. You could really use a refresh.

Ideas:

Simpler colors, Menus, higher font-size, white background?.
TABLE LAYOUT?!?!? --->> NNOOO!!!
Go and visit this website: http://www.csszengarden.com/ -- The beauty of CSS design without tables!!! It's always the same HTML content, only the CSS changes (Select other styles in the menu, may be on the right or not)

In no way I want to tell you guys what to do but my first thought on the way the rich content is displayed is "It gives me an headache!".

Hope you take this comment in a constructive way! No hate!

See ya'll,

Sam.

I like this style better. The sites with simpler colors always look so... blah. I think the variation in this site makes it look more attractive. The sites with white backgrounds don't seem to send a message that encourages users to stick around and be active. The owner actually increased the font size at the top of the screen within the past month. Making it any bigger might make the home page look cramped.

Most users on this site who know about coding in general are good at CSS coding. I personally prefer the straightforward table design. Overloading the site with graphics would be annoying at first, but probably adaptable.

This site is very active. Plenty of active members here have said that they didn't like other forums because the topics were too refined, it didn't have a community atmosphere, and/or it was just too serious. I've used sites like Zelda Universe that have a rather impressive appearance, but the forums in general get boring fairly quickly. It was difficult to find my way around the site other than in the forums. I was using the site regularly for about a week before their rules and overly complicated layout got boring.

I'm not deliberately disagreeing with everything you put. I just feel differently. Sorry if this came across as rude.

It's possible that David (the owner) has already considered some of these changes, but he's been doing freelance work and taking care of a family lately. He still does work, but not as much. He should be back to working on Vizzed full-time by summer.

As vizzed is a retro gaming site, the retro look and feel is somewhat intentional and helps to bring back a feeling of nostalgia. The interface and look is dramatically improved since I joined the site a year ago, and there are limits as to what can be done to the site in terms of design with respect to the coding of the board. The site developer is constantly working on and improving vizzed's features, and maybe a face lift will happen again with the next year or two.

I'm going to go ahead and close this thread now, as it's purpose has been fulfilled. If you have any questions as to why this thread was closed, or want more information on the topic, feel free to PM me.
