I change my watch strap which is leather quite often, I dont tend to take it off when I wash my hands and therefore if the strap gets damp it starts to break down.

Occassionally I forget to take it off before I shower and then remove it with a damp hand, the watch is waterproof but the strap is not.

if I leave it it discolours and can in the summer lose its leather smell.

I could get a metal strap but that is too manly for me and I love my dainty little watch.

I can see why you would change your watchstrap with a very expensive watch that was hundreds of dollars or something, but for all others, I just haven't gone out and looked for straps to replace my watches anyways. I usually go buy a new one like everyone else says.

I just feel off balance if I wear a watch, and it just bugs me. Since it would be weird to wear a watch on both wrists, I don't wear one. Next year, I am going to have a hell of a time getting used to wearing a wedding band.
