Ok, so IW is in love with firefox, so i thought i'd be a bit of a sleaze and make a firefox thread. Here you can post any cool plugins you find, or just comment on firefox.

I have just found a realy cool feature in firefox. I found it when i had a few tabs open (ok, it was just two), then i went to set my home page to the current page. Then it set my homepage to both of them, so when i click home, i get 2 tabs .

Where did you find FasterFox?

I use a free program called Fire Tune.. search it up.. did wonders for my firefox...

And yeah... i love firefox... *visits profile for random Firefox memrobilia*

Vash, remember when you, or maby some1 else posted mods you can do to firefox to speed it up. Its like that, but in a extention form . But i think this does other stuff aswell.

Fire Tune

I still suggest using Fire Tune. But it depends on what you want to do. Fire Tune doesnt actually edit the exe it just

Fine tune looks like it has alot more settings, but you can direcly edit the settings, its just that they suply more of a UI for it

Also Fire Tune was was defined as the first automated firefox tuner program... if that makes any sense...

Fire Tune dont have many settings... its mostly automatic.

Personally here are the plugins I've tryed


NO script - This is my favorite. Whenever a page uses java or whatever, any kind of wierd or malaciious scripts it denies them. It really helps when I'm surfing the wrong kind of sites. Not porn mind you, but like cracker sites. You can easily set it so you can allow scripts. It is a seroius security boost.

Moon one... Don't remember the name. But you tell the plugin where you live, latitude and longitude. And it will be a little icon in the bottom right (like no scipt) that will tell you when its sunrise, sunset, and stuff like that. When it will start to get light, or start to get dark. I likes it.

I tryed some DL programs but what the heck, Most of the stuff I DL is with Bit commit, the other smaller littlier stuff is usually fine with firefox. DownthemAll is a decent one.

A couple I have used...

One where you put in a search term, then it will auto surf pages that have what you searched. Decent... It has good features like Words NOT on the pages, so like sex etc. Fliters those things out if you want.

And another plugin along that line that randomly picked a link from one site, then from another, and just kept on going.

Thats all I got.

I really reccomend NOscript, you don't know what your missing if you don't have it.

FasterFox does have settings, open up your extentions window, the right mouse click on it, and press options.

First of all! Install the MR Tech extensions from here and here.
The first one removes the five second delay whenever you install an extension. The second one removes the Browser Version Limit whenever you want to install an extension that isn't specified as being for your browser version, whether it still works or not.

DownThemAll will let you highlight and download any number of files on one page. IE Tab and IE View support seeing things in IE, and Firefox View supports making IE support seeing things in Firefox.

Fuzzy Time shows you a linux-like clock in your status bar. Reload Every gives you a Katiesoft-type Page Refreshing ability. ViewSourceChart comes in VERY handy if you do any type of web design. And if you like your Tabs like I like my tabs, you just NEED Tab Mix Plus.

Did I not put the link for SessionSaver in here? Well everyone should have already downloaded that by now. And SubmitToTab, StopOrReload, and CuteMenus too!

REBOOT YOUR FIREFOX NOW (Or install the Google Toolbar extension, and put the "Restart" button on your toolbar. Might be faster that way, when you really want to install a new extension)

U do realize that removing the browser version limit is a bad thing?
If you do this, and get an extention not for your version, or OS you could potentially destroy firefox, thats why its there.

Is there any pop3 email thingz for firefox?

You do realize that 99% of the time, your favorite extensions from Firefox 1.0 will still work in Firefox 1.5? Why do they pop up with errors? Because of a single text file.
That's right. A text file packaged inside the XPI said it was functional on 1.0, but they didn't account for the new version 1.5... So why do you have to wait for the authors of EVERY PLUGIN to get their act together?

Just install it.

They dont take that long to get there act together.
If firefox does an update, that changes a core feature that the plugin uses , then poof , there goes firefox. Sure it might not completly die, but yet it may. We dont know yet. The day is comming you see! THE DAY IS NIEAR!!!

Also, do you DL plugins for a different OS? Can you do this? Probly not, because firefox site dosnt let you for a reason.

As far as I'm aware, Firefox exists for Linux, Mac, Windows, and a few others. XPI is a platform independent extension-zipping format.
