If I was a gym leader, I would have different types of pokemon join my team so that they could counter against any attack that my opponent would throw at me. My team would be like that but my best pokemon would be a fire type.

I would probably have an Ice type gym. I think ice type pokemon are quite powerful and there's nothing more amusing than freezing your foe solid XD and plus any pokemon trainer that defeats me will get a free ice cream along with the badge =P
