I would like to say yes, video games are a form of art. Video games involves music, graphics, and pictures. Art is a passion for something. Making video games are too a passion of something you like to do. Music is great, and it is great if the soundtrack fits into a theme, like the Pokemon Theme Song fit well to the Pokemon Games. It also takes creativity to make such a masterpiece. So yes, video games are a form of art.

I hate when people say "video games aren't art". Who decides what is art and what isn't? People may say that literature is part of art, yet a textbook isn't. So a novel is art but a textbook isn't. At the same time, an abstract painting and a realistic painting are both art. Photography can be considered art, but not video games? I think the most applicable definition of art would be some sort of expression, but not necessarily visual, since music is art as well in the opinion of the average person. Just because he had some neck misfortunes I should even take his opinion seriously? It's like trusting someone who listens to no metal music to give you visionary insight on the genre.

That guys full of bull. Sure there are games that I would say "this is not art" to but I could say the same about certain movies and books. I'd love for him to play a game like Okami
