i think video games are a form of art becuase the Designer has to be creative, improvise when needed, and needs to find how to organize their artwork/videogame

Yes, they need to know how things blend together; Colors, objects, animations, etc. It's a massive, interactive form of art.

Games are a form of Art and yes interative art, the best art ive seen in games must be the final fantasy series, amazing imagination went into that, Id even go far to say that the Story lines in games are an Art, if the Game gets you glued to your pc because of the graphics, sound and the story, thats 1 brillant game then.

It's a form of art that takes many other mediums of art (drawing, writing, etc.) so, in a way, games are the biggest forms of art to construct.

It is an art. It takes composers for music and artists and writers and a whole lot of art is put together to create a beautiful piece of work.

And, you can tell which forms of art took longer. Hence why nobody buys the massive hoards of half-assed Naruto sequels

well, strategy isn't art and playing video games doesn't really express much of anything. I stand by what I last posted

Video Games ARE creativity. That's what it is, a big file(s) with a bunch of lines of code that makes art, or a creative art.

I honestly don't see how a person could think they aren't, unless they've just never played anything. Or perhaps if they've only played really really poor games.

There's a lot of thought and effort in most games, and many are highly artistic even thanks to just the art itself. The stories are often engrossing, the gameplay even moreso... yes, it's quite artistic.

i think i look at it like this. each part of a game is an art form in of itself.
the story, the pictures, the music.
when you put them all togther it becomes either an exibition, an art show.
or in the bad cases a yard sale, where you'll find mostly junk with maybe a little treasure hidden in a dusty old box.

art is in the eye of the beholder. make of it what you will.
creativity goes into every peice. if the artist cares about their work you will find a great symphony can be born, worthy of carnagie hall.
when the artist doesnt care, thats when you get those horrible little spoons with pictures on them, that only your grandma/aunt/etc collect

i dont pretend to understand "art". but i know what i like

(please note, the author of these words has nothing against little spoons with pictures. this was just and example. if you wish replace the spoons with lawn gnomes/little cat statues/decorative tins/etc)

It's just sitting on your arse and being entertained. Just like reading a book isn't art nor looking at paintings nor watching movies.
