About a month ago, my great great aunt died. I really liked her, but she had been in decline for a very long time. My mom and I went to see her in the hospital right before she died and she looked awful. You could tell she didn't have much longer and all I wanted was for it to go faster so she could leave all that pain.

I've never really lost any family member that I was really close to. My great grandma died when I was very young. I remember her but I didn't really have a concept of the permanence of death yet, plus there aren't too many memories. My uncle died when I was really young so I never got to know him, which is a real shame because he was one of the sweetest men according to my mother and father. My other uncle who was also very kind died when I was very young so I didn't really get to know him either. My aunt died when I was in 6th grade. Her son, my cousin, is a great guy. My grandmother died about two years after my aunt. I didn't get to know her that well either.

I've lost many members of my family - many of whom were greatly missed and wonderful individuals I've been told - and I do love them, however, we just never had much of a chance to get close.

My grandmother died in May of 2011, literally hours before Osama bin Laden was killed. I had a deep emotional bond with my grandmother. She opened her home to my brother and me when our parents were away, and always made me feel safe. It's been tough, but I'm getting over the feelings of pain and anger.

I lost my grandfather that I loved when I was 13. He died in 2003 from lung cancer. I think he might have gotten it from all those years he worked in that cement plant. I miss him but I know he's looking down on me and has seen the young man I have become. He was the greatest grandfather ever. All the joke he told and all the times he messed around and hid all my stuffed animals when I was just a little kid. My grandmother would always yell at him for that lol.

My uncle Terry died when I was 13. He died from alcoholic poisoning a few days after the 4th of July. Of course he will be greatly missed especially for his funny jokes and his ways of making our days better.

I have. Just last week I lost my grandma. She was 94 years old. I miss her dearly... She only remembered me and my brother... Not even my father or anyone else... It was very sad. But I hope she's in a better place.

My grandmother died after fighting alzheimers for 7 years.  She died when I was in high school.  I remember when i was little she would love to make wonderful meals for my brother and I.  Every time we came over she would open the candy jar and give us a thin mint.   She would have our grandfather take us places while she got dinner prepared.  She also would play her organ (piano) for us and then let us have at it lol!

A few months after my grandma died my uncle her son died too.  He was retarded (using medical term here not insult).   He had a heart attack and unfortunatly no one knew of this until later that night.  He passed away in the morning of that day.

2 years ago February 5th my mother passed away from a heart attack.  I loved her dearly even though she never took care of herself.  She abused medications, never ate properly, and hated everyone.  I think my brother and I are the only ones she truly loved.  The day before she passed away I called her to make plans for valentines day and thankfully I was able to tell her I loved her.  To this day I still cry about her passing away at such a young age.  She was my life, she supported everything I liked to do.  I don't have anyone like that anymore.  I miss her so much!  I wish I could still be with her I miss her smell and her voice.  She had such a wonderful singing voice.  I just wish I treated her better when I was young.  I always hated her drug abuse and wished I had another mother.  Now I really want her back!
