When I am single I tend to feel quite sad, like I will never find love again, this is quite an admission to make but nevertheless I like being attached to someone and sharing my life with them, of course there are times when I am in a relationship and I long for freedom and to be alone, but that may only be with the security of knowing that I can come back to them or meet someone else.

Are you currently single? how do you feel about it, are you desperate to be in a relationship or like my friends happy to be single as they have their own lives and do not want anyone to interfere with it and if they got married give away their house and car to them as part of an expensive divorce settlement - literally that is their thought process.

Totts : I am single and have pretty much been single since 1999-2000 if memory serves me… I have tried to have relationships since but none really lasted so I pretty much refer to these attempts as “Near-misses” because they haven’t really succeeded.
It can be a downer sometimes because being a writer sometimes can be more stressful then some people may realize depending on what genre of writing you’re in. I’m a sports writer so that can be stressful because you can deal with editors and companies that need things done a certain way and in a certain time period and that alone is stressful. You take into the equation that freelancers don’t really get paid properly or in most cases treated fairly it certainly is quite stressful.

My problem has been the unwillingness of those whom I’ve tried relationships with in the years since my last real relationship ended to understand and be willing to deal with a schedule I put on myself. I pretty much am use to working constantly when things are normal and that is mostly due to the fact that I am a freelancer and am not under contract to a particular publication or company. The way I see it, being a boxing writer first and foremost is that every fight no matter what is at stake or even the combatants themselves, every fight is a potential story.

This philosophy has made me push myself to an insane level sometimes because I literally try my damndest to cover anything and everything I may have access to regardless of whether I am covering something else at the same time or, time differences between where I live and where a card may be taking place internationally.

If I were working for a major paper or lord willing a network and only had to worry about what I had been assigned to do then I would certainly consider slowing down but would likely try to continue covering other cards on the side as a freelancer.

It would be nice to settle down eventually but I have learned to basically take it as it comes and try not to aim for anything. It may seem a little sad but that’s how I go about things. The key for me in any potential relationship other then trust and faithfulness obvious would be the willingness to be there and put up with the struggles a writer faces and be supportive.

Modest focal points for a relationship for me but I don’t think it’s drastic or anything like that.

I am currently not single, but when I was single I didn't desperately look for someone. I just waited until I ran into somebody I felt affection for. It certainly worked for this relationship. We just clicked.

I have been single for about 3 months now but I am not worried about it because I am only 17. I know I will get my chance again.
