I'm not afraid of them, perse, but if one comes near me, I WILL run away. I've never been stung and I'd like to keep it that way. They more creep me out than scare me. =|

Yep, Those Stings are very painfull ( Specially if someone tells that you will become a Bee as Kid ) I used to Run if one fly near of me... Now I wait, and if doesn't fly away... The panic invades me .

I am not afraid of bees, but that is in part due to being used to venomous/stinging insects from studying to be a biology teacher. I know how to deal with them. One thing I saw a lot of people say is that they run when they see them. Not a good idea. Bees detect heat. When you run, your heart beat elevates, making you warmer, and look more like a threat to a bee. That is also why it is not good to swing your arms to try to keep them away. Just walk normally in the opposite direction you see them, and they won't bother you. Wasps, on the other hand, are just hostile little things because they can sting without killing themselves. I do walk a bit faster if I find myself near a swarm of wasps.

I am definitely afraid of bees and it does not help knowing how much a bee sting hurts. I have been stung twice on my right foot. I am getting better at standing my ground though the change is rather slow.
