I was thinking of ideas on how Vizzed could do something for Charity.

Given the fact we have so many great members, interesting guests visitig and over 131,000,000 views, I feel we are in a good position to help others less fortunate than ourselves.

What ideas do you have on how we can collaboratively work together and support both local and indeed international charities?

To get things started, perhaps we can list on this thread the charties we currently support independently as private members and then from this draw a chart of who we collectively might like to support with a poll.

Ideas I have had so far are adding a paypal donation box for our agreed charity and publicing charity events you are hosting or know of on a special forum or thread.

first of all, you could just try to raise awareness of the charity that we pick, we could also do the pay pal idea. you could also have coordinated but independent fundraisers in the areas that participating vizzed members would choose to do? Idk

This is a very generous idea.

I'm actually volunteering for a fundraising event through my university (Simon Fraser University) called "Balding for Dollars" where I'm collecting donations in person and online until late March when I, along with other volunteers or "shavees", will be shaving my head to raise awareness of childhood cancer and blood disorders. The hair will be used to make a wig. The donations will be used to support children and their families during and after treatment and also provide funding for the oncology (tumors/cancer) program at BC Children’s Hospital.
For more info here is the website: http://www.baldingfordollars.com

It's just a suggestion, but if you want to support this charity I can give a link to my personal volunteer page where I am accepting donations.
