College is really getting difficult and I remember when my parents were in college they would always say that all they did was study and you will pass, but that dosn"t seem to be working for me.

im in sixth form (a grammar version of college in england) im one year away from uni and the learning curve has gotten alot steeper, the workload is immense as well as all the extra things ive got to do to make a good cv reference. You can't just study anymore you basically gotta live and breathe education to get into a good uni :/

I think it does as well. I think as you go on, whether it is in school or college, the farther you go, the harder it gets, but you learn to deal with it before going to even harder things the year after.

I read and studied even less in the second semester in my freshman year and yet I did better than the first. I think it really depends on focusing on the stuff in class as well as listening and just understanding the material. Heck, I doodled in almost all my classes but that helped me focus and listen to the professor. Sure, I occasionally read when I felt like it and studied, but in my experience thus far, if you listen to the professor and don't be lazy with assignments, you should do fine. I don't suggest doing what I do since everyone learns/studies differently. Perhaps you take too many notes instead of focusing on the professor? Maybe you're a visual learner and need pictures? There's a lot to consider.

It is indeed a lot different than it was 20 years ago let alone 40. There is more criteria, and expectations. The work load is bigger and student cram a lot more now. Getting a higher education has become a thing of necessity in these present times. I would say the work gets harder as you progress in u college education, yes.


Like others have said there are different learning styles, people are different, then there is also the teacher you get, in my community college it first come first serve for choice of teacher when signing up. Bottom line take work seriously.

Yes, I do believe that it has gotten more difficult. =/ I had to work really hard last year to get the grades that I did. It stressed me out, but it was worth it because like Mike said, having a college degree is pretty much a requirement nowadays to get a nice job.
