Ever felt trapped in your life and wanted to walk away?

There are many times in my life where, I admit, I have felt scared of becoming trapped, be it in a realtionship, a job, with family, pregnancy worries, etc....

I came through all of these times well, but it did make me think about how many times my life has gone/not gone in the direction I wanted it to, or what that direction might be.

I know many of my old friends have not had children for that very reason, they wanted to be free and being 'tied' to a child was their concept of what being a parent meant and thy did not want that.

It is amazing really, that we can have children, and I wonder where that instinct comes from? I know there is some talk about survival of the genes and stuff, but if we are living in ever increasingly selfish times how comes we have kids at all? and not pend the money on trainers, flah cars and burger?

I've had my share and I suppose I have more coming. That has always been a question for me..so many people around me seem to know what to do (of course it doesn't mean they do..) and I don't, I can't make a choice as to who am I going to be, or what would be a rational thing to do or is rational always right etc etc etc

I felt like that after a while from being in college. Luckily this semester is much better than the first and I've been spending much more time with my best friend lately (I didn't see her for about TWO months last semester; no wonder I was so depressed). Actually, since Valentine's Day, I feel liberated. I've cooled down a little, but I still feel pretty good. Sometimes the best thing is confidence.

I have to admit that I do feel kind of "trapped" when I'm in a romantic relationship I guess it's probably because I'm still 21 years old, I mean I feel that I should "live my life", travel here and there, having fun with friends etc, so all these thoughts makes me feeling like  "choking" whenever I think of the word "forever", at least for now. Also I tend to believe that nothing is forever, not even human body is forever, it expires eventually (note: I'm not talking about soul, but about human body as the one we have right now). So I think that saying I'll be with someone forever is like lying to that person and yourself unintentionally.
So all these thoughts usually leads me to just walk away after some time, both from relationships and work/studying. Well, I usually go back to work/studying soon though, because it makes me feel that I'm doing something useful,lol

I think everyone does, at times. I'm usually okay, but sometimes my feeling of being chained down goes way above what I'm comfortable with. My domestic partner has serious health problems (fibromyalgia, for one), and managing those takes a lot of time and effort- and keeps me at home during my off time, since I want to be available to help when I can. And of the four people living in this apartment, I'm one of the only two who can cook...

In a sense, I like being relied on, and being reliable enough to be relied on, but at a lot of other times it just sucks because I can't take a break, and if I screw up, there's nobody to catch my error.
