So, who has there own theries on the 1m³ thing, adopted from shoutbox.

10cm³ = 1L.

10x10 = BASE OF CUBE = 100L
10x10x10 = BASE x HEIGHT OF CUBE = 1000L

1 Meric Ton = 1m³ Of Water.
1 Metric Ton = 1000L of water.

1 Metric Ton = 1000 kilograms = Mass of 1 meter "cubed" of water, as stated above.

Yeah, but everyone in the US thinks in Standard. For example I think in Miles, Pounds, and Gallons. I know how many pounds are in a kilogram and how many Kilometers are in a mile, but that would be extremely hard to change over my thinking to see stuff in the metric way, and most people don't know the conversions, so it would be difficult to get an entire nation to change something like that.

Also don't mess with the south.....
