Guilty as charged.. However it not so much looks as it is personality, and interests. Though I myself am extremely self-conscious about my appearance, not so much how I dress though(regarding clothing of choice).

I do and so does everyone else, no matter what they say. I believe it comes from back when the human race were hunters and gathers and didn't often interact with other tribes/people. Being able to judge someone using body language(which is what we're seeing when we judge someone) and the type of clothes they were wearing could mean the difference between life and death.
Just because something is an instinct doesn't mean we can't control it. Just because someone looks mean doesn't mean they are and it's up to you to actually talk to the person to find that out.

I would be lieing if I said that I didn't judge people by appearances. I also realize that some one's appearance is just how they look and may not portray who they are.

I know this is cliche but  don't judge a book by a cover. Feel free to judge the cover though , just don't assume the entire book is like the cover.

Well, some people see having a first impression as a judgement, which is what Elara's post talked about. I define judging not by having a first impression, but assuming those first impressions are right before you even try talking to the person. I typically don't do that, but I have before. One that particularly pops up in my mind I saw a guy with the completely shaved head, Confederacy flag belt buckle, a shirt that had the red KKK symbol of the cross, and he had a Swastika tattooed on the back of one of his hands. Although, that is a time I don't think you have to assume anything from his appearance. When somebody goes out in public and is that loud with things like that, he is trying to tell everyone who he is. That is one time I don't feel bad about judging someone for their appearance.

Ok whoever answered no to this question is just a liar. Why? Basic Psychology. People as a group of individuals judge based on appearance before anything else. Though once they get to know them the appearance becomes less and less important. So I am no different then the rest of the world.

Like some people have said before - yes, I have and it's what we all do at some point, whether we want to or not.
It goes both ways actually - sometimes you meet/ see someone and think something not so good and later on you'll learn that you were wrong.
And sometimes you have a good impression of someone and they prove to be total bastards, really.
