I don't understand why everybody's picking fights left and right... I don't understand why we can't get along and I don't understand where the propaganda of mod abuse keeps coming from!?! Can't we all just stop fighting before this site becomes a barren wasteland of "what could have been" PLEASE!?!?!

I agree with you. I don't get it myself.....most of the members that are "leaving" is only temporary. I say, give them about a week (the most) and they'll be back. Unless they left for personal issues such as PK who is leaving for a whole year for personal reasons.

I had my first chat room experience yesterday...and no wonder people are getting insulted and offended....It's the topics of conversation. I'll leave it at that.

Nothing to sweat about. Also the Chat Rooms are a death trap for most people, I myself tend to stick to the board rather than the chat rooms.

Why... because we all have different personalities and some misunderstandings can't be avoided, especially in the chat room.

Personally, I think people as in the chat regulars are mixing real life up with here, it seems to spark off arguments whenever this happens too much, and then we disagree with other peoples opinions...

My advice, don't go to chat often

One Love people! Bob Marley. I think some people want to see how much drama they can make by leaving, and come back if everyone says, "Oh, don't go, we'll miss you!" They're looking for the attention. Sigh... at least I ain't leaving. You have that to be happy about.

let's add some perspective of experience to the mix....

I've seen hundreds of members come and go after being active on the board. New people replace them all the time and you forget the people who have gone and become friends with the new crowd. It happens over and over. There isn't much you can do about it. Drama happens, people take offence over the smallest things. If people choose to leave you can dwell on it or you can move on and find a new person to talk to.

And all these "noobs" that are joining are what we all used to be. We were all noobs at one time and many of us have turned into good members. I'm mostly looking at Ken and Sept right now Give the newbies a chance

Anyways, I don't think the chat rooms are causing any problems. Anything that can boil over anywhere else can boil over in the chat rooms also. I mean, if you look at some of the old threads/posts, you can see that this drama has been happening long before the chat rooms were ever popular. Also, as many others have said, leaving is half of the drama... honestly if you're going to leave, don't make it your job to summon all of your friends and enemies... it just makes a mess of a thread. Look at leggy's, for example.

The best way to deal with problems with the chat rooms is to get out of the fight and leave the chat room. Also, the new chat rooms became a bit more crazy lately. Non-mods started to boot some users out of conversations. This happened to me once by a user I forgot the name of. One more thing, the drama in the new chatrooms are worse than the drama in the old chatrooms

I know people leave from time to time but like all the other people said they'll come back or not. I had left Vizzedboard because I was caught up with High-school as soon as I had vacation time, I would come back to Vizz some people I have known left, some of them came back some didn't. Lot of people don't know me very well but I want to know them, I hate the feeling of being forgotten and I'm sure others hate that felling to. So give'em time.

And I agree that at least half the drama comes from sensitivity issues and people leaving, coming back, leaving, etc.

I doubt that everyone who said they are leaving will be gone for very long. I don't think there is much to worry about.

I heard some things earlier, and I noticed some people are getting banned from chat...for things that they usually wouldn't for E.g Sharing their own opinions
They only seem to get banned from chat when a certain someone goes into chat...Coincidence?

DISCLAIMER- This is a proposal to a few things that might help the leaving member problem.

As we all know, Jmc was banned from the chat, and left here as a regular for either joking (the most likely option) or actually being serious (Serious, on the Internet? Ok...?) and this caused some members that are a tad more senstitive than others, to go into a rage. Certain names were present.

This also happened to me, I, while I'll let a higher authority judge me, was also banned from the chat, while again, certain names were present. But enough of that.

Now here, ladies and gentlemen, is the idea we just can't grasp- Tolerance. Some members tolerate others with the more wide-spread opinion, yet when a different member has a different opinion, that member is branded as a bad egg by the other, like-minded members. My pappy taught me to show tolerance to everyone. So if I was a, I dunno, a person against gay/lesbian marrige, I would by no means kick them out of my workplace. Now flip the card the other way, gang. If Mr. and Mr. Jones owned the workplace, and saw me, Mr. Different Mind-Set Jazz, I would hope they wouldn't be biased or prejudice against me.

So, If I may, I'd like to share my idea to help solve the leaving members- Let's learn to accept that 1- Not everything on the Internet is serious. 2- Tolerance helps. Enderstand not everybody has to agree with everything you agree to. 3- Let members in conflict talk out their problems amongst the two of them. (I'm sure other names got involved with Jmc getting banned) No need for other members seiing their pals, jumping to their side, and hurling more insults at somebody (I'm also sure this idea has been proposed before)

Now, I know I said a lot on tolerance, so lets just see what the definition of it is-–noun
1. a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, nationality, etc., differ from one's own; freedom from bigotry.
2. a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward opinions and practices that differ from one's own.

I hope some of you read this, and I know that all of this will work, and I know a lot of it won't work at all.

And I see the chat room being brought up (In this post as well)- We can fix it, or start to at least. The chat room, if we throw in some tolerance and get rid of some of the sensitivity, would be a great hub in different people and opinions to hang out at. Peolpe can talk about interests while cracking jokes, knowing they won't be called out for it. This, will cause it to overflow to the less damaged forums, making this whole operation a great(er) place.
