I've noticed that some people start complaining on/around Valentine's day about how "fake" the holiday is. (That, or they're complaining that they're single and that their day sucks, etc... *Eyeroll*)

I think Valentine's Day is great. And it's only fake and pre-packaged if you let it be that way, who says you can't make something for your Valentine, or avoid buying stuff and just spend time together? It's the ultimate excuse to be left alone and go on a nice date...

Similarly, it only sucks to be single on Valentine's day if you let that get to you. You shouldn't need to be in a relationship to be happy. That, and you can be someone's Valentine without dating them.

Do any you guys have a Valentine this year...?

I agree with what you've said for the most part. The people who complain are the ones who don't have anyone to celebrate with.

I think it is just as commercialized as Christmas is, but I enjoy the holiday as a continuation of the Roman festival of Lupercalia (fertility festival celebrated at the same time of year)... that and I love chocolate. I don't know if I am doing anything for it this year or not, the fiance and I are tight on money, but at least in spirit I have a valentine.
