3 would have to be my favorite. I loved the little RPG style story it had for you to play and it had hundreds of stuff for your own customizable character's. It also introduced some of my favorite characters like Tira.

Soul Calibur 2 for me. I think it made the biggest strides from the previous game. It introduced some dynamic characters like Ivy who was totally different. I remember delving into her different "stances" for the first time. Same with Nightmare and how deep a character he was when, at first glance, he was just a hulk. But the best character in that game and all the following games is Talim.  "Wind!"
