Final Fantasy VIII. The unique battle system, the progression of the characters, the twists in the plot, the stellar music... it's all great. The world theme was really weak and easily one of the weakest in the entire series, but otherwise it had a stellar soundtrack, much like most FFs do.

The conspiracy theories on why things get so wild and change so much after disc 1 are really interesting too. They're almost as fun as the game itself. Almost.

My favorite Final Fantasy game is FFX, but I only like the remastered edition, and this is the only game that I actually went in depth into, so I havent played the others much.

My favorite is Final Fantasy game is 6.  I love the story and I love the large cast of memorable characters that you can obtain.  Very fun game play and it have the best antagonist ever, a clown!  Well a court jester to be fully honest, but a clown non the less.  He is a cold, deceiving, heartless, monster that would do anything to satisfy his goals.  Even kill innocent people for no reason at all by poisoning their water supply.

My favorite Final Fantasy is a very lesser known Final Fantasy than Final Fantasy 7, and Final Fantasy 8, which are usually the main ones up that people talk about, at least where I am and when my friends talk about Final Fantasy. But mine is Final Fantasy 9, where I am from I am the only individual who likes Final Fantasy 9, I think the Character development in that particular game was amazing, I was able to fully understand, and like all characters, the memories of that game I also cherish both in and out of that game as well. The story was very good as well it was a childish, but it was still very well done, and written. The card game was addicting as anything, but most of the card games in the series is. The game play was very well done, really no frustration for me, and it never really got stale at any moment.  My favorite character would have to be the classic hero in the game Zidane I just like how he was developed as a character. The music was very beautiful never was annoying or anything like that. All in all it was a very solid and well game.

Ok ok ok, I have to admit that FFVII was like the most awesome game from the Square Soft.

I think it's a little unfair to be judging all of the franchise as opposed to breaking the franchise down by Dev team name.

Square
FFI-FFV
Square Soft
FFVI-FFIX
Square Enix
FFX+

I will go ahead and admit to most likely being wrong with the time line of Company name changes.

For nostalgia reasons I have to say FFIV because it was the first one I ever played (one of my aunts owned the game for SNES and in her file named a character for every person in the family [My character was Palom]. So I have to love the game.

Square Soft really knocked it out of the park with FFVII but for me a close second will always be FFIX.

I feel like Square Enix is really just trying to tread water until the next really big thing happens. FFX and X-2 had the best character development, look, and feel for this era, but I think that XIII has the better story line despite the lack of reward bug.

I really have to go with my personal favorite in this and one I knew straight from childhood. I still remember going to a friend's house and seeing it for the very first time, and getting hooked straight into the game and the storytelling of it. Final Fantasy IX offered a rich array of characters that each had their own personal story(For the most part) and the main of those characters had an unique storyline to it. It also had my favorite character in the Final Fantasy franchise in it, plus who could forget the card-game? You can spend just hours playing the card game inside the game.

Final Fantasy IX was my first and is still my favorite although I'm ashamed to say I haven't beaten it yet. I've gotten to the fourth disc and just never crossed that finish line. I've beaten X, X-2, XIII and I'm working on VII but so far nothing has surpassed my love for Final Fantasy IX. I just love Vivi and Zidane!

It is not very easy to choose between Final Fantasy V and VII, if you consider, of course, that the former has more limitations due to its console being older. Anyway, both made me have a wonderful time and got me stuck. FFV, despite graphic issues, is so cool with that jobs system and FFVII with chocobo breeding and tons of mini games which are not just things we have to do at a certain point in the game. I would go to the Gold Saucer just for fun!

Both are amazing!

My favorite is Final Fantasy VII because I have only played a couple FFs and I think VII has the best characters and story of those which I have played. I also like Final Fantasy XII character named Balthier, but the game itself was not that good as FF VII was in my opinion.

If I have to pick one, then it is definitely Final Fantasy VII.  I have played every Final Fantasy game (yes even XI), and this is still by far the best.  The 3D graphics were ground breaking, and the story was incredible.  It was so intricate and complex, and it is hard to find a better story in any other game.  The materia system was a great way to develop characters, and it is still my favorite leveling system. I think the side quests are great and give you a ton of extra hours of playability.  The character development is amazing. Every single character has their own unique
story which is thoroughly explored in order to develop each one in to an incredible stand alone character.  Nearly 20 years later, this is still by far the best game I have ever played.

FiresOfAxel : OK, I was being a dork and "Like"ing the votes for Final Fantasy VI, but I had to reply to a post with a direct reference to me.  Of course, I had to choose Final Fantasy VI because I was nerdy enough to choose "Kefka" as a profile name...but I have to agree with you about the characters being the best-especially the main antagonist (ahem! )  Also, the story, music and side quests are just the best.  And the setting too!  Come on, a steam punk setting back before it was fashionable?  OK, I'm done gushing now.

So you get a hearty "Here, here!" accompanied with polite applause.

I've started Final Fantasy III on the Nintendo DS. They have this interesting concept about changing jobs: freelancer, red mage, monk, white mage, black mage, warrior and something else. It's coming along nicely although did get stuck trying to find that gnome village because you needed a character that could use the mini spell and the only way to do that was to have a character that knew level 2 magic. All of my characters were freelancers, or that I did not assign them a class, so I had assign classes and level grind to get their job level to increase. Finally, two of my characters learned Mini so now I could finally move on. I was stuck there longer than I wanted to be.
My record on FF is I've beaten FF1 and FF2 as GBA remakes, and I've beaten 4 and 6 as their snes counterparts from the Wii Virtual Console. I have number 7 and 8 on steam but I've yet to play those so for now I'm doing 3 and then I'll get to number 5, Final Fantasy V Advance on the Game Boy Advance through Vizzed.

Final Fantasy VI is by far my favorite Final fantasy game, one of the greatest video games I've ever played. Final Fantasy IV is amazing too. It clearly set the bar of how role playing games are meant to be done. Never have I played a role playing game which so many magic / spell options and so much depth and scale, alone from a super Nintendo game. Kefka is also one of the all time greatest video game villains. He became a general, and then a god all on his own merits. The second half of the game was dedicated on rallying up your team again to take him down.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
