If this error message is being displayed in Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green, as I have been receiving many reports about, it only affects in game saving. You can still save in game using the save states, F2 to save and F4 to load. The 1M sub circuit board must be some part of the GBA cartridge or the GBA itself, and certain pokemon games require this to save in game, and thus would give emulators an issue when attempting to save in game.
