I will see your delayed and cancelled flights and raise an airline going out of business during the flight.

I was flying into the middle east with a layover for refueling and stocking up on bratwurst and leiderhosen in Germany (ok, less brats and leiderhosen, but more horrible airline food and more flight attendants with lower cuteness ratings of both genders).  We landed, unloaded, shuffled into an empty hanger, and abandoned.  Eventually the airline announces that they had gone bankrupt somewhere between New York and Germany.  

My question at this point: how do you run out of money when you just got a big 'ole government contract to shuttle people back and forth?

So, yeah, I think that counts as a cancelled flight.

Not cancelled, but I actually had a huge delay a couple weeks ago. On our flight back from Costa Rica, we got from there to Dallas Texas with no problem, but the flight from Dallas to Denver was delayed a lot. We were supposed to leave at 2:25, but we didn't even board the plane until 7pm. Basically, they didn't know where the plane was so they couldn't give us a time. They just kept pushing it farther and farther back. Now, we got to board a plane at 7, but we didn't take off until past 8pm because they didn't actually have pilots to fly the plane. You would think that when they let you on, they are ready. But no. Funny thing is, there were 8 pilots flying on the plane but were of duty so not allowed to fly. It was ironic that there were 8 pilots on the plane but were unable to fly it. We got to Denver at 11pm, and had to drive 5 more hours to my wife's parents house.
