Why do people make posts about leaving vizzed like they know the future. I just go through periods where I'll leave or quit being active or whatever, then after time passes I find my way back here and it is fun again. To say your leaving when ur almost always welcome back, well it almost seems like an insult to the people you used to relate with. I guess I just don't get it which is why I'm making this thread. Perhaps some other viewpoints on the subject can help me understand.

People usually do it, so other users know they are leaving and why. It's so other members don't think that they left because they were too busy, when they were actually mad at another user etc. I don't really mind them to tell the truth. I can see how it can be annoying sometimes though.

I think it's because most people on here have great friend's and not just ''People you relate to''. I know I do and that's one of the reasons I only come on this site. and sometimes it's sad and sucks because you got to leave the site for awhile and not be able to talk to your friend's on here. So i'm glad people tell when there leaving because it could be one of my best friends leaving or somebody i'm used to seeing on here. Just like geo did a few day's ago i'm glad he posted a thread about him kinda leaving because it would have been really wierd not seeing him on here. But I guess if people dont talk to many people on here or dont have that many friend's on here I can kinda see what you mean.

It's so the board and friends of the member at topic can know about the departure, and why. Plus, for some users, giving a "good bye" thread would be a good idea, when leaving. Since some have higher status' and what not. But again, it's just so those people can know. Not for drama (in most cases) or stuff like that.

I can understand change of status updates like w/ geo and work and other I've seen. The part I don't get is to announce your leaving, like w/ no intentions of comming back, thats the part I'm not getting? Except some people like to be dramatic for drama's sake.
