I'm considering leaving Vizzed forever.

See...

In my one week absence, I did a lot of thinking and meditating (no one knows this but I meditate all the time). After this one week I arrived at several thoughts.

-I am happy without the need to be online.

-I am happy with a simple life with no responsibility.

-I am wasting my life being online all the time.

-Vizzed would be a better place if I didn't exist.

-Vizzed needs to go back to how it was.

-I can never be the person people want me to be

-I am alone in thinking I cannot change.

7 thoughts for 7 days. Each day focusing on a different thought. I think as a user, I have been disapointing the general population of Vizzed.

So I summon you, my closest friends to tell me your input.

So yeah, you all know the story, I am planning on leaving for good, my main reason being that this place would be far better off without this new me. I tried going back to the older me, but I don't know how I can be him again. If I could recapture that part of me, I'd probably be more likely to stay, but I can't do it.

Hey, just do what you wanna do, and what you think it's best, you've thought it over, and you think that you should go, and I'm fine with that, because you thought it over, I'll miss you greatly, you're my best friend on here. (No offense, rest of friends).

I'm not entirely convinced I want to leave, but I'm not doing anyone any favors here, so maybe it's time to go? I will be sad if I leave as well, but I don't want to become a problem on this site that ends up getting banned. =/

To be honest, if you leave I'll care, I will. But your new self isn't too great, if you revert back to the old leggy then I'll definitely want you to stay. If you want to go, then you want to go. Simple as that. A bunch of random people from the internet can't really sway your decisions, at least that's how it is for me.

I don't believe in any of that (thoughts 3 - 7). How is being online all of the time a waste? You're not always online, don't you run and stuff? It all depends on what you do. For me, something is only a waste if I gain nothing from the experience. Although I would be better off without the internet, I like to read a lot and it keeps me happy when I can't see my friends and stuff. It's all up to you on that.

Vizzed would not be a better place if you didn't exist. I have nothing bad to say about you. Everyone is drawn to you on here, you have that type of personality. You're a good user and a great guy.

Don't be what anyone else wants you to be. Just be yourself. If they don't accept you for the way you are, move on. You should not have to please anyone.

I do not know all of the details (if you can't already tell) however, I went through a similar experience I believe. A few years ago, something happened (yes it involved women) and I changed. I was no longer happy and carefree, instead I was often sad and blue. I kept trying to be the way that I used to be but that never really worked. You have to realize that people are not stationary. We all grow and change everyday. I may no longer be as naive as I used to be, however, I know who my true friends are (the ones who stuck by me when I was going through a lot of crap). Stop being so hard on yourself, okay?

Since becoming a local moderator, I have been a bit of an ass to the general people here. You obviously, are one of the people I have not affected in that way. Since becoming a mod, I have gone on a power trip that has caused me to lose friends and have many wish I was the way I used to be.

I don't know why people are drawn to me, I really don't.

Basically, there's WAY too much to explain.

legacyme3 : I think I know. Generally you're a handsome guy (my friend even said that when I was on Vizzed by her house one day) and I think you just have an attractive personality.

Now that you mention it though, I think I've seen you kid around a bit. I sometimes see your posts on geeogree's thread asking silly questions. There was that one time you edited my post (which in hindsight was pretty funny), and there was that incident when you were dissing the Awesome Club. However, I recall you apologizing for all of that.

It's only human nature. You get power and you find things to do with that. However, you feel sad for some of your actions. To me, that sounds like a genuinely nice guy. Like I implied, no one is perfect. We all make mistakes.

The good friends always stick by you. I have a friend who used to hangout with some less than good people and would smoke. I didn't hear from him in over two months. However, I always waited by the school for him. One day he was waiting for me again like he used to. He slowly but surely stopped hanging around with those bad people and stopped smoking. He's my best friend and I am so glad that for that. Is this making any sense?

I wish you wouldn't go, your a cool guy even though I've only talked to you a few time. Anyways if you think you have to go, it's your choice to make. Maybe I'll see somewhere someday.

Honestly it's your decision from here on out what you do. I felt the way you did for a bit (remember?) but then I remembered the reasons I wanted to stay. I think instead of giving a very long rant, I'll just respond to each of your thoughts.

1- That's true. Sometimes being on the computer turns into more a necessity then actually enjoyment. That's the reason I quit Pokefarm: I was doing it more for the goals then to have fun.

2- That is impossible. You can't live without responsibility, unless you're homeless. There will always be responsibility, no matte where you go.

3- I kinda feel the same way... although computers interest me; it seems very clear to me that I'll be involved with them all my life.

4- That's not true. Your attitude honestly isn't that bad... there are worse people on here.

5- True. But honestly the drama doesn't all revolve around you; if you leave not much will change.

6- Yeah, well, that's good. What kind of person do people want you to be? Other then an attitude change, I don't see anything that can't be changed.

7- Ok, mister pessimist sir.

I mostly have this to say:

Why does it have to be one or the other? Why is it stay the way you are or leave completely? Why not step down from staff if you feel it's affecting you badly and remain as a trusted/elite (whatever David leaves you as). Then you wouldn't feel like you HAD to be here, but that you could choose to be here as much or as little as it suits you.


I personally don't expect the "old" leggy. I expect you to show up, whoever that may be on any given day. Just come here and enjoy yourself. Being staff doesn't mean showing up every single day and spending 8+ hours on the board. The requirements are actually really not very high and can be met very easily.

Anyway, I want you to stay, regardless of how much time you spend here.

Truthfully, I like being staff, the staff part actually isn't what's bothering me. It's mostly the whole board feel lately. It seems to be a bit different than it used to be and I noticed after a week away the feel was slightly different.

I think I know what I'm going to do after talking this over with my friends the past day now.

The choice up to you. If you do leave , you will be the best look-like-my-friend user (from my friend mathew) people had ever saw

that's fair I guess. It has felt different to me too, but I've gone through this about a half-dozen times or more. The board changes as it grows. Most of the time it feels like it's a bad change, but I've found that if you simply stick it out and adapt to whatever the change is that you'll grow along with the board.

but like I said... I want you to stay, but do what is right for you.

Thank you for your view, after talking it over with my friends and listening to a few more people tell me what they thought, I have decided I will stay for at least now.
