They had totally different characters it appears, and it wouldn't have been a traditional turn-based rpg.

Not to say Final Fantasy VII on PS1 was bad, but I MUST state that the battle graphics were a hell of alot better on the N64 demo, and the sound effects were also better, so were the monster designs, and not to mention the attacks were alot more exciting on N64 as well, I DO have a suggestion for nintendo- Revive this version and put it on the DS, it's possible to do and nintendo would rake in tons of money for it, after all, THEY basically started final fantasy's popularity when they were teamed together as Sony and Nintendo.

Sony didn't have anything to do with the popularity of FF. FF got popular with FF 1. It was all SquareSoft, Nintendo just let them put the game on the system. And Sony has no rights to FF that I know of. SE could go remake all their games for other systems if they wanted.
